Villa Maria College Netball Registration 2018

Welcome to Villa Maria Netball. We are delighted that your daughter is playing for Villa Maria College. Any support that you as parents or senior players can offer would be welcome. The Netball Strategic Plan is available to view on the college website – under OPTIONS – sport.

Registration

This year all our registrations and payment will be done online.

Uniform

Any players needing to purchase a uniform, these will be available to purchase through the school uniform shop. There is also second hand uniforms available.

VMC sports socks (compulsory) are available to purchase also from the uniform shop. $10.00 a pair.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions for all teams Year 7 – 13 for 2018 is $175.00 Payment is required when registering.

If you are selected in the 9A, 10A, Senior B team your subs will be $220.00. If you are selected in the Senior A your subs will be $250.00 . The difference will be invoiced thru the College once selections have been finalized.

Trials

The following are the trial dates for 2018

Trials will be held in the College Gymnasium. You must arrive 15 minutes early to get your name marked off.

Please note that if you are trialling for the Senior A.B,C teams you must be available to play in the Preseason netball tournament on Saturday 10th March if selected in the squad of 25.

You will not be able to trial if you have not registered.

*Please note that Year 10's are eligible to trial for the A team, and if they are unsuccessful in making that team they will then trial for the Year 10 teams.

Attendance at all trials for your year level is required (eg Year 9's must attend all trials listed above)

Additional Commitment required from the Senior A,B,C Year 10A, Year 9A players.

All players will be required to attend a team building day on Tuesday 3rd April at Taylors Mistake.

These five teams compete in both the Christchurch Netball Saturday and the Wednesday School Sport Canterbury competitions. These players may also be required to attend weekly fitness sessions as well as their normal trainings and additional uniform items will be required eg polo shirt. An additional fee for both these aspects will be required once teams have been selected.

The Senior A and B squad will be participating in the pre season netball tournament in Christchurch on Saturday 10th March. You must be available for this. The final team announcement will be made after this tournament.

The Senior A team competes at the South Island Secondary Schools tournament in September in Dunedin and the Year 10A and 9A teams compete at the South Island Secondary Schools Junior Development tournament at Hagley Park in the first week of the July holidays. (Additional trainings may be held leading up to tournament; this will be at the coaches discretion. There is an extra cost to attend these tournaments.

These all require compulsory attendance if you are selected in one of these teams, so if you do not feel you will be able to commit to this level please advise the selectors accordingly at your age group trial.
