Rationaledefiningneedandmarketandstudentdemand:

TheproposedmajorreplacesanemphasisthatalreadyexistsatUW-W.Programsintheperformancesciencesareofferedatgreaterthan50%ofUWSystemcampuses;however,theemphases(and, therefore,titles)oftheprogramsatthecampusesrangeacrossthreeprimaryfocusareas:1.ExerciseScience(LaCrosse,Parkside,Platteville,RiverFalls,andSuperior);2.Health,WellnessandFitness (Stout,Whitewater);and,3.Kinesiology(EauClaire,Milwaukee,Madison,andOshkosh).DespitethenumbersofexistingsuccessfulprogramswithintheUWSystem,demandcurrentlyexistsatUW-W.
