A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor of the administrators of Louisville's Park Duvalle and Portland Family Health Centers for their participation in the Pfizer, Inc. Sharing the Care Program.

WHEREAS, Park Duvalle and Portland Family Health Centers are committed to providing medical services to Louisville residents through an innovative Pfizer, Inc. program that assists persons with an annual income at or below the federal poverty level and who do not qualify for a prescription drug benefit from a public assistance program or who lack private insurance coverage; and

WHEREAS, with over $930,000 being spent in the Sharing the Care Program, Park Duvalle and Portland Family Health Centers have collaboratively, in 1999, provided 22,727 free prescriptions to 9,664 needy persons who would have otherwise done without;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby hail and commend the administrators of the Park Duvalle and Portland Family Health Centers for their dedicated service and exemplary work in the participation of Pfizer's Sharing the Care Program. In introducing the most advanced medicines to the needy people of the Louisville community, the administrators of Park Duvalle and Portland Family Health Centers have contributed to the enhancement of their quality of life.

Section 2. The Senate wishes to express its appreciation to Pfizer, Inc. for their goodwill efforts in contributing to the welfare of the citizens of Louisville through the Sharing the Care Program. We deeply appreciate their contributions, and wish to Pfizer, Inc. continued success in all future endeavors.

Section 3. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the administrators of Park Duvalle Health Center, Portland Family Health Center, and Pfizer, Inc.

Section 4.
