A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Marie Blake Ross.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Marie Blake Ross, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Marie Blake Ross was born on June 20, 1925, a native of Richmond, Madison County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Boyd County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on March 2, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Marie Blake Ross was the loving daughter of the late H. T. and Ollie Mann Blake; she was the devoted wife of 60 years to Billy Joe Ross; she was the loving mother of four sons, Bill Tom Ross and Tony Ross, both of Catlettsburg, Jimmy Ross of Raceland, and Marty Ross of Worthington; and a daughter, Kathy Bennett of Catlettsburg; she was the loving mother-in-law of Brenda Ross, Carol Ross, Michelle Ross, and Charles Bennett; she was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Cari Rucker, Christa Hoffman, Courtney Howard, Kyle Ross, Katy Bennett, Joe Bennett, and Kylee Ross; she was the proud great-grandmother of Bailey Marie Ross, and she was the proud great-stepgrandmother of Davis, Matt, and Danielle; and

WHEREAS, Marie Blake Ross was an esteemed member of the Boyd County community, and an active and involved citizen; she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Catlettsburg; she was a clerk with the Federal District Court in Ashland, retiring after 30 years, and a secretary to the superintendent of the Catlettsburg School System, retiring after 20 years; and she was an active member of the Boyd County Democratic Woman's Club; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Marie Blake Ross has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives joins Representative John Vincent and Representative Rocky Adkins, and does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Marie Blake Ross, and extends to her family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Marie Blake Ross.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Billy Joe Ross, 3150 Louisa Street, Catlettsburg, Kentucky 41129.
