School Uniform

The school’s uniform policy enables parents to support the school’s aims of providing a positive sense of community spirit by ensuring that the children look smart and well presented at all times within the school and in the local community. At the same time care has been taken to suggest a clothing list that will provide for the children’s comfort, health and safety throughout the year.

All Scotts Park uniform, other than the jumper/cardigan (which is available from Bromley School wear) is available via the Marks and Spencer website, follow the link to Your-School-Uniform.

NB. All clothing must be clearly marked with the child’s name to ensure prompt return should they be mislaid.

Jewellery in School

It is the safest policy not to wear any jewellery to school as it can be a danger to your child and to other children.

However, we do appreciate that girls may have ears that are pierced and therefore only studs may be worn at school. As we are beginning the process of educating our children ultimately for the world of work, it is inappropriate for boys to have ear piercings/earrings at school. Therefore boys should not wear any ear jewellery. Chains, long earrings and rings with raised surfaces can cause accidents to children and are not permitted.

Watches

Reception and Year 1 children are not permitted to wear a watch.

If you would like your child in year 2, 3 or 4 to wear a watch, please ensure that you provide an analogue watch with clear numbers and “hands”. This will help the children learn and become familiar with the skills of telling the time.

In years 5 and 6, children may wear either an analogue watch or a digital watch.

We strongly recommend that you do not allow expensive items to be brought into school as that would be inappropriate and the item could be damaged during activities/play or lost.

We should like the co-operation of parents in ensuring the safety of all the children and we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of any jewellery in school.
