TWO BOOTLEGGAR ARRESTED AND 22 CARTOONS OF BESTO WHISKY WITH AMBASSADOR CAR NO HR-01L-9085 RECOVERED

With the arrest of two accused namely Naresh Kumar s/o Jagdish r/o A-56, Adarsh Colony, Bulandshaher, UP and Monu Chowdhary s/o Sawraj r/o Devipura, H.No. 535, Champatwali Gali, Bulandhaher , UP South District Police has recovered and seized 22 Cartoons of Besto Whisky ( 864 Qtr and 48 bottles ) with Ambassador car No. HR-01L-9085 white color with red beacon.

TRAP , APPREHENSION AND SEIZER

On the night intervening 22.06.12 a secret information was received to the staff of PS Vasant Kunj South who were on patrolling duty in Rangpuri area that a Ambassador Car No. HR-01L-9085 is coming from Gurgaon having large quantity of illicit liquor. On receipt of said information a picket comprising staff of PS Vasant Kunj South under the supervision of SHO/PS Vasant Kunj South Inspr Gagan Bhaskar was deployed . In the mean time staff of Excise Department also came and stated that they have information that one Ambassador car No HR-01L-9085 coming from Gurgaon is carrying large quantity of illicit liquor and they also started checking with the staff. At about 03.50 AM an Ambassador Car No HR-01L-9085 was found coming from Gurgaon which was stopped by the staff and on checking of car large quantity of illicit liquor from the back seat of car and from dicky of the car found . On counting total 864 qtr of Besto whisky and 48 of bottles of Besto whisky in 22 cartoons recovered. Two person namely Naresh Kumar s/o Jagdish r/o A-56, Adarsh Colony, Bulandshaher, UP and Monu Chowdhary s/o Sawraj r/o Devipura, H.No. 535, Champatwali Gali, Bulandhaher , UP were carrying the said illict liquir. Accourdingly a case vide FIR No. 187/2010 dated 22.06.12 u/s 33 Delhi Excise Act PS Vasant Kunj South has been registered and both above mentioned accused have been arrested. The vehicle and recovered liquor has been seized in the case.

INTERROGATION

The accused have been interrogated and they disclosed that they have used white color Ambassador car affixing red color beacon for carrying illicit liquor from Gurgaon to Bulandsheher in order to dodge the police thinking that police will not check them and they will not be apprehended. Both the accused are unemployed. Their previous involvment is being checked from their parent police station .

NOTORIOUS “ZAHAR-KHURANI “ GANG, INDULGED IN STEALING THE BELONGINGS OF THE PASSENGERS AFTER SEDATING THEM WITH DRUGS, BUSTED

3.Sanjay S/o Sant Ram R/o Gali No. 5, Sangam Vihar , Wazirabad, Delhi Permanaent Address Vill Parsa Khargaon , PS Nanpara, Distt. Baharaich, UP, Age 30 years

South-East District police has unearthed desperate “ZAHARKHURANI” gang, who sedate the TSR passengers with sedatives and deprive them of their valuables in Delhi and NCR. Two such cases of PS H.N.Din solved.

INCIDENT AND TEAM:-

In the recent past, several cases of theft after sedation were reported in various parts of Delhi in which two-three persons used to offer lift in a TSR to victims and give them sedative mixed cold drink/biscuits and dump them at a lonely roadside and flee away with their bags and other valuables. On 07.06.12 an incident was happened with one Rahul Ashok Mahajan S/O Ashok Ganpat Mahajan R/O 20/C, Ordinance factory, Vorongaon, Maharastra in which he took an auto-rickshaw from Railway Station Hazrat Nizzamuddin to Dhaula Kuan in which two passenger were already sitting. When they reached near Dhaula Kuan, one of passengers already sitting in the auto-rickshaw offered him juice and after drinking it he lost his consciousness. After regaining his consciousness after two days, he found that all his valuables are missing. On his complaint, a case vide FIR no. 193/12 u/s 328/379/34 IPC PS Hazrat Nizamuddin was registered and investigation taken up.

Another similar incident also occurred with one Ram Narayan Paswan S/O Late Sh. Janak Paswan R/O 7/460, Trilok Puri Delhi on 21/05/12, in which he reported that he is working as TSR driver and he took two passengers from ISBT Kashmiri Gate in his TSR no.DL-1RL-5147, when they reached at Bhogal Market one of them offered juice to him and after consuming the juice he lost his consciousness. After one day he regained his consciousness and found his TSR and cash were stolen. A case vide FIR no. 168/12 u/s 328/379/34 IPC PS Hazrat Nizzamuddin was registered and investigation was taken up.

In order to prevent these incidents and to nab the criminals involved in these cases, several teams were constituted. A team of PS Hazrat Nizzamuddin, South East District consisting of SIs Sanjeev Kumar I/C PP Jangpura, SI Abhisekh Singh, WPSI Vinita HC Yashpal, 1613/SE, HC Pappu Ram 1950/SE Ct, Ashok 1951/SE, Ct. Devender 2913/SE, Ct. Suresh 2410/SE and W/Ct. Manju was formed under the supervision of Inspector Sunil Kumar SHO/ H.N.Din and under the guidance of Sh.Pawan Kumar ACP/NFC to develop the information and apprehend the accused.

The team worked relentlessly and collected details of several criminals with similar modus-operandi. It came to fore that the members of “ZAHARKHURANI” gang headed by Irfan might be involved in these incidents. The hard work of above team bore results and specific information was received on 22/06/12 that the leader of this gang along with associates is roaming around H.N. Din Rly. Station. The team so formed acted very swiftly and abovementioned accused persons were apprehended while they were planning to commit similar crime.

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDAI:

During sustained interrogation, it was revealed that accused Irfan has 3/4 members in his gang and he along with his associates had been operating in Delhi and NCR. They mainly targeted the persons who are going to ISBT or railway stations and going to their native villages and carry travelling bags or suitcases. One of the gang members used to sit on the driver seat of TSR whereas two members in the disguise of passengers used to sit on the rear seat. When they used to see the soft target they used to offer lift to him on the cheapest rates. Once the TSR started moving one of them ask the driver to stop for cold drinks or water. One of them got down from TSR and purchased a bottle of soft drink/juice or water and two or three plastic glasses. He gave one glass of water/soft drink to his associates and also offer one glass to the victim. The person who brings glasses and soft drink would mix the powder of 8-10 sedative tablets Ativan cleverly. As soon as the victims become unconscious they used to take away all his valuables and dump him at a lonely place and flee away.

They also adopted another modus-operandi that if any passenger refused to drink soft drink or water, one of them used to put the sedative laced handkerchief near the nose of victim due to which he immediately used to lose his consciousness.

RECOVERY:-

1.Laptop make Sony VIO.

2.Travelling bags and suitcase contain new and used clothes and other items.

3.Nikon Camera

4.Three expensive mobile phones

5.Two Army canteen cards

6.One PAN Card

7.Eight packets of Ativan tablets (Total 295 tablets, used as sedative)

8.One TSR no. DL-1RS-5799 used in commission of crime

9.One voter ID card.

PROFILE AND PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS:

1. Irfan ( Gang Leader) age-29 years S/O Esshan Khan R/O A-35, Gali no.-2, Bhagirithi Vihar, Mustafabad, Delhi. He studied upto class 9th in Urdu medium school. After that he also started working with his father as plumber. He came into contact with criminals of same modus operandi and started committing such crimes with Wahid. He has previously been arrested by Darya Ganj Police in FIR no. 58/09 u/s 379/411/34 IPC and remained in jail up to 2 months. After release from jail, he formed his own gang and became more desperate and started committing crime in association with different accomplices. He used to bring sedative tablets from his known medical store from Trans-Yamuna area on pretext that he is consuming the same.

2. Wahid Khan age-32 years S/O Sayeed Khan R/O HN-B12/556, Kabir Nagar, Maujj Pur, Delhi. Permanent Add.- Mohalla- Bariley gate magazine, Rampur, PS Ganj Rampur, UP. He came to Delhi in 2004 in search of job and started working as labor. After that he started driving TSR and during that period he came into contact with Irfan and started committed such crime. He has also previously been arrested by Darya Ganj Police in FIR no. 58/09 u/s 379/411/34 IPC with his gang leader Irfan and remained in jail up to 1 month.

3. Sanjay age 30 years S/O Sant Ram R/O Gali no. 5, Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, Delhi. Permanent Add- Village- Parsa Khargaon, PS- Nanpara, Distt.- Baharaich, UP. He studied up to class 8th in his native village and came to Delhi 13 years ago in search of job. He started working as labor in private factories. After that he started driving auto rickshaw. He came in contact with Irfan 3-4 months back and he lured him to earned quick money and he joined his gang and started committing such crime. His main work in the gang is driving the TSR.

ALERT PICKET OF SOUTH DISTRICT STAFF NABBED TWO NOTORIOUS AUTO LIFTERS

ONE STOLEN MOTOR CYCLE RECOVERED

Alert picket staff of PS Vasant Vihar, South District apprehended two auto lifters namely Pardeep Gupta (age 23 years) s/o Panna Lal Gupta r/o N- 36/1, Lado Sarai and Kadir (age 24 years) s/o Mohd Ibrahim r/o 93, Katwaria Sarai, ND and recovered one stolen Hero Honda motor cycle. With the arrest of these accused persons, 3 cases of MV theft have been worked out.

BRIEF FACTS

On 21.06.2012, in order to keep check on M.V. theft and snatching, a picket was set up at Katwaria Sarai, near police Booth and SI Sanjeev Lahiri, SI Manoj Yadav, HC Devender, Ct Prem Prakash and Ct. Jagdish were conducting checking of vehicles. At about 8.15 PM, two youths on a Motorcycle (Hero Honda Glamour) bearing registration No DL 3S BA 9586 came from Katwaria Sarai and picket staff signaled them to stop for checking. The rider instead of stopping the motorcycle, tried to jump the barricades but alert picket staff had left no scope to flee away. On enquiry, they revealed their identity as Pradeep s/o Panna Lal Gupta r/o N-36/1 Lado Sarai and Kadir s/o Mohd Ibrahim r/o 93, Katwaria Sarai. They were asked to produce the relevant documents of the said motor cycle, but neither they could provide any relevant documents nor gave any satisfactory reply regarding ownership of the motorcycle.

On verification of the original registration number of the said motorcycle was found to be DL 3S BA 9566, which was found stolen and wanted in FIR No. 95/12 u/s 379 IPC PS Saket. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 189/12 u/s 411/482 IPC PS Vasant Vihar was registered and further investigation was taken up.

INTERROGATION

During interrogation, accused Pradeep Gupta disclosed that he is working at National Archive Janpath and gets a salary of Rs 4500/- per month. He has a great wish to live lavish life but the salary he earned is not enough for the same. He came in contact with co-accused Kadir s/o Mohd Ibrahim and started stealing the motorcycles to earn quick money.

RECOVERY

Stolen Hero Honda Glamour motor cycle bearing registration No. DL 3S BA 9586. Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to more recoveries.
