We have people in one side of the building that never come across here and vice versa.
10:00:22:00 / Ben Hamnett
Despite the fact that we are all in the same company, it’s almost if we’re two different ones.
10:00:27:14 / Cammie Hugo
Well we didn’t think we had that many problems with employee engagement. Our engagement survey was fairly high; it was in the sort of 70s and 80s so it never really became apparent that we had the issues.
10:00:39:05 / Dawn Chera
It’s hard to put it into a word what needs to change but, it’s silly things.
10:00:44:05 / Male Employee
I’ll just transfer you.
10:00:45:09 / Dawn Chera
It’s like telephone calls; it’s like the car park.
10:00:50:16 / Ben Hamnett
You have an hour dinner, if you’re waiting around for ten or 15 minutes for someone to get out and move their car, it is very annoying.
10:00:57:11 / Irene Emery
They were the quick wins that we went for. Getting those sorted out quickly, has actually made people see that we are serious about the bigger project and the bigger side of what we’re trying to do.
10:01:07:24 / Dawn Chera
I was extremely sceptical, but the few things that’s happened so far, obviously it’s early days, but I think it might work.
10:01:16:09 / Suzanne Sheils
I think with Pendragon, their journey’s gonna be long but I think probably the ACAS sort of input has been to kick start that process.
10:01:25:03 / Suzanne Sheils
Morning everybody.
10:01:25:23 / Members of Staff
Morning.
10:01:27:03 / Suzanne Sheils
It’s nice to see you all again.
10:01:29:05 / Cammie Hugo
With the employee engagement initiative and project that ACAS were offering, it gave us a massive opportunity just to have someone external to the business, kind of come in when we need them to, to sort of go through some suggestions, go through some ideas.
10:01:44:10 / Cammie Hugo
The project is going absolutely fantastically well here, it’s got people talking, it’s got people interacting, we’ve got a forum going which we’ve never had before.
10:01:52:07 / Irene Emery
What ACAS are doing, they’re there as a support for us. They initially helped us get this off the ground. So they’re there as a bit of a security blanket at the moment I suppose.
10:02:04:11 / Suzanne Sheils
Very often in organisations, people at ground level very often think, “I’ve got ideas but it’s not for me to put those forward.” In a joined up organisation, it’s everybody’s place to put those ideas forward. Sometimes they’re very simple ideas, but still in all they make a big difference to people’s working lives.
10:02:24:13 / Dawn Chera
If we’re all happy, it’s gotta be a better place ain’t it? It’s got to provide a better service and a better business really.
10:02:40:07 / NARRATOR
following an employee engagement survey, pendragon contracts has worked constructively to overcome communication issues. a new meetings framework brought a fresh approach to problem solving. the bridge is no longer seen as a barrier, car parking issues have been resolved and IT developments are well underway. there’s also a new found confidence within the business.
