2.04 COMPONENTS

A. Ganeral. For each track busway system indicated, provide a complete assembly of conductor bars, busway housing, insulation, connectors, end caps, plug-in units, supports, and other components and accessories as needed to form a complete system of the type indicated. Busway shall be UL-listed for hanging on 10-foot centers.

B. Frame and Enclosure. Track busway housing shall be an aluminum extrusion designed to encase the busway conductors, provide a polarized means for attaching plug-in units and shall pass UL hypothetical finger probe test. Housing shall be 5, 10 or 20 ft standard length or lengths as shown on the drawings. Housing shall be extruded with slots to receive rod mount hangers to hang from the building structure and tabs for integration into the building ceiling system for recess mounting, “R” recessed option.

C. Conductors. All track busway conductors shall be copper, electrically isolated from the busway housing and shall be sized for 100% of the busway rated capacity at ambient temperatures up to 40 degrees C.

D. Top Feed Boxes. Provide manufacturer’s standard track busway full capacity fully recessed top feed boxes at locations shown on the drawings. Locate top feeds as close to the end of the busway run as possible to maximize usable busway length.

E. End Caps. Provide manufacturer’s standard track busway end caps at the end of each active length of busway.
