Thanks to these Seniors who spoke at last weekend's North Atlanta Now prospective student open house. A record crowd of more than 300 Class of 2016 parents and students turned out to hear about all the great things happening at North Atlanta right now! A special thanks to chairs Gwendy Johnston and Allison Hayes for orchestrating this event. Seated left to right are Max McGonigle, Katie Wong, Zoe Brzezinski, Brie Terry and Crystien Williams; standing left to right are Paige Curtis, Elizabeth Miranda, Eric Zemmali and Marcus Lee. We also would like to give a shout out to all of our teachers and administrators who spoke, as well as Mr. Brooks and our amazing NAHS Marching Band Drum Line!
The PTSA also thanks our incredible grounds crew who spread 500 bales of pine straw to beautify our campus: Aaron Estis, Matt Dawson, Kim Musser, Sherri Calcagno, Martha Fair, Betty Rainwater, Patrizia Kurtz, Teresa McCreight, Kim McCauley, Jen Palmer, Molly Woo and Suzanne Rubini. Thank you for your hard work and commitment of time.
Please join us this Friday, February 3rd, at 8:30 AM for our monthly Coffee Talk parent meeting. Last month, we enjoyed hearing recent North Atlanta graduates return to NAHS to discuss their college experiences. This month's program will feature nine former North Atlanta moms, who return to share their perspective on the high school years now that they are on the other side of the fence. Mr. MyGrant, once again, will emcee what promises to be a lively and insightful discussion.
Also at Friday's meeting, we will begin the important process of nominating next year's PTSA Board of Directors. If you are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee, then please contact Amy Shea by this Wednesday, February 1st. The nominating committee will meet by February 16th to propose a slate of officers. This slate will be posted on February 17th and the PTSA will vote on the proposed candidates at the March Coffee Talk.
The APS Demographic Community Meeting for our SRT 4 cluster is this Wednesday, February 1st, at 6:30 PM in the North Atlanta Theatre. Demographers will present new options and maps to the public and request input. The new maps are available on the APS web site here.
