FR. SPEAKS

III.Thank you Fr. Now, to help us focus on our theme of a cup of blessing, we would like you to look at the cup on the table in front of you. It represents your relationship. Look at the foot – the base of your cup. This is the base of all relationships. It represents your faith – your relationship to God. A strong base gives you strength to grow from.

The stem of your cup is your support – the things that help you reach for the stars – the things that help you to stand strong. The stem of your cup represents your community, your parish, your family - what ever it is that supports your relationship. A strong stem - a strong support system that encourages growth.

The bowl of the cup symbolizes your relationship. What you put into your relationship determines the sweetness of the wine that comes out. We hope that the things that you hear today will help you to increase the richness of the flavors in your cup.

VI.Blessing Cup/ Forgiveness Cup

Wow! Are you all tired? Have you learned a lot today? We have a couple of things before we finish up.

We wanted to spend a couple of minutes here and thank the couples that helped to make this enrichment possible. Those of you on the enrichment team, please stand up… We know that all of you put much effort and commitment into this day. We pray… Dear Lord, Please bless these couples for the sacrifices that they have made to strengthen the sacraments sitting here today. Help them to know that they are loved, valued and appreciated. We pray this in your name. Amen.

Let’s look at those cups again. How much of its contents are bitter? We need to work a little on forgiving those hurts that have caused us to build walls of protection around our hearts.
