Their Eyes Were Watching God: Character Analysis

Working in groups of three or four, closely analyze both Logan Killicks and Joe (Jody) Starks in Their Eyes Were Watching God. Using the text, find quotes/passages that reflect the characteristics of Logan Killicks and Joe Starks. On the poster, the following should be included:

·  An accurate portrayal of Logan and Jody from the novel

·  Five characteristics with quotes from Their Eyes Were Watching God for Logan and Jody

·  Identify whether the quotes show direct or indirect characterization.

·  Characters can be on separate pieces of poster paper.

·  Frame of Reference: Write an introduction paragraph and one body paragraph (that would be suited for a persuasive essay) addressing whether Logan or Jody is better suited for Janie.
