Part 2: World Martial Arts Tournament

The day for the tournament came, Shen was up like a bolt of lightning. He hurridly got into his fihgting outfit and headed downstairs. Marlene knew it was best not to prepare his breakfast like she usually did; because Shen was jsut too excited to eat, and was more than ready to go to the tournament. Marlene also knew that Sharonw as too young to experience the tournament..but decided to take ehr anyway because she seemed to ahve no fear of anything. And Marlene had her cam corder ready to tape shen in action. Shen thenw ent into the living room, where Shen was sitting on the couch meditating.
"I better not bother him right now" Marlene said to herself "Because now I'm pretty used to Shen's behavior of absorbing his energy and getting ready. That husband of mine..always getting ready for the big challenge."
Then, after a few moments, Shen awoke from his trance and stood tall. He saw Marlene and smiled. She too smiled back; so did Sharon apparently.
"Back to Earth huh dear?" Marlen asked.
"Yeah" Shen said "I was busy reconnecting the body and soul. I promised that I would use my techniques of sacred arts solely to win; and not do too much damage on my opponents. and I also had my daughter in mind."
"Shen..I was kinda thinking" Marlene said hesitantly "What if you lose, and one of your friends wins? I'm sure he/she would be willing to split the prize moeny with you. 100 million Zulecs is alotta money...and i'm sure half would be great for Sharon's education."
Shen then gave Marlene a ahrd stare. He also kinda looked hurt.
"Honey" shen said "Don't tell me you're losing faith in me. I practiced and worked out very hard for this day. I go in there determiend to win."
"I know" Marlene said "But usually..those who expect to win don't. It's usually best not to get your hopes up."
"MAybe for other competions.." Shen said "But for fighting...it's all up to the individual and how he eprforms. he's gotta amke that eprformance great; and he has to expect tow in. Otherwise he gets linient and disconnected. As arrogant as it sounds..I'm going there to win. Now let's hurry on now."
Shen then walked past Marlene. Marlene was still kinda chessed at Shen. Marlene then looked down at Sharon in ehr arms.
"Sharon" Marlene said "Promise me you won't be so thick-headed liek your father in the future."

In the same area..where the past battle between Armnikron and Shen took palce years ago..the stadium was reopened. Crowds of people all over the globe; of every species; came to witness this spectacular event. The stadium was fully built to it's pinacle, and the fighting ring was better than ever. This was to be a dy that was showing big promise to the fighters who entered.
Shen and MArlene arrived at the stadium. Shen's eyes gleamed as he looked onto it.
"WOW!" Shen said excitedly "The ring looks better than it did in the past. This is incredible!!"
"And we get to see you here in action": Marlen said "Which reminds me..which of your friends is entering the tournament?"
"Crash, Vector, Danni, and coco.....but right now I gotta get my butt over to the inside rings." Shen said.
"Huh?" Marlen asked "Inside ring?"
"yeah" Shen said "That's where the fighters are determined by who they fight against. I estimated that there were over 200 different fighters entering this competition."
"2oo!!!??" Marlene asked loudly "But how loing do the fans wait until the real fight begins?"
"About an hour or so. all depends" Shen said "And it's then left up to see who the final twelve opponenets are left to go on. Only 12 out of 200 go to the actual tournament."
"Gee" Marlene said "Sounds strict."
"Well as you imagined" Shen said "100 million Zulecs is lots of money...and you cna iamigne how many fighters would like that in their pockets."
"I see" Marlene said "Makes alotta sense."
The tiem bell then rang. And Shen's ears perked up.
"Welp..that's the bell announcing that all fighters ar to report to the inside ring. Seeya alter honey." shen said. And with that...Shen ran to the inside ring.
"Remember Shen!!" MArlene called out "Do your best..and don't whine if you lose!!"
"I WON'T lose!!" Shen yelled back.
"hey..wai.." MArlene said "Oh well. I know he worked hard for this. I hope his efforts aren't for nought."

Inside the inner ring was a wide variety of fighters of all shapes, techniques, sizes, species, races, and sexes. Shen looked all aroudn for his friends. He finally saw them, and tran up to them.
"hi guys!!" Shen called out.
"Check it out guys." Crash excalimed "It's Shen!!"
"Glad you amde it" Vector said.
"We were expecting ya" coco said "I'm gonna see if I cna ebat my own teacher."
"thanks for the reception" Shen said "glad you guys are still here."
"hey Shen" Vector said "If ya lose..don't worry about it. I talked to Marlene and well..I agreed to give you half of the prize moeny when I win it."
"WHA..!!??!?" Shen excalimed (Fallen on his abck anime style) "SHE CALLED YOU!??"
"Well yeah" vector said "Don't take it as an offense..but you know that my power makes me the strognest of the fighters here. Don't take it personal; and I DID offer you ti elarn soem of my techniques."
Shen then collected himself and got bakc on his feet.
"Now who said you'd win?" Shen asked "We don't know that for sure. I could, Coco could, Danni coudl, Crash could..Hell any of these fighhters coudl win. You aware of that?"
"Of coruse" Vector said "But i calculated their pwoer levels. none seem to stand a chance agaisnt me. Only you and our friends cans tand somewhat of one."
"I see..." Shen said "Well no matter...as long as I put my mind to it..as wella s the rest of ya...we'll only elt fate decide who's the victor."
"Well said" Crash said "I'm kinda hoping to win myself."
"So do I" Danni said "Anbd only fate cna decide."
Just then..a strange figure entered the inner ring. He had spiked silvery hair, and a patch on his right eye. He had the face of a grey cat, and wore long blue pants and a silver vest with cleats on it. He stood talla nd slender..but undaunted.
"Wait" Vector said "YUou guys feel that power?"
"Oh yeah." Shen said "It's pretty big."
"It's coming form hIM!!" Vector said pointing to the cat guy. He jsut stood there silently.
"Oh..strong power" Shen said, then smiling "Cool!! Another challenge at last. Mayeb he'll be good for us."
"We'll..see." Vector said "I came ehre to win..and that's all there is to it! Which reminds me..Shen if you DO win..besides your daughter's education..what else will yuo spend it on?"
"nothing..excpet my daughter." Shen said.
"Erm..why?" Vector asked.
"Because she's the only thing besides Marlene I hold dear to my heart. I wanna amke sure she grow ups right and fulfills what's given to her. See Vector..one thing you gotta realize..you amy eanr money as an android hunter..but I don't fight crime jsut to eanr money. I prefer living the way I am, and helping make the world safe for everybody. See V Man...you may have alot..but it don't amtter to me. I don't need all that stuff. Just my family. That's all that matters."
"Ah.." Vectore said "I see...well..that's pretty decent of you Shen."
"Yep..money ain';t everythign ya know." Shen said "And as for my sacred arts..I explained em to you already. I can't elt any one else use em or learn new techniques not related to them. I made my vows to keep them, and I did. Because I respect my masters and their arts. remember that.,"
"Right" Vector said "Welp..best os luck"
"To all fo yuo as well." shen said.
Everyone was busy talkign with each other..but the strange cat figure eyed Shen and the others. His glare was fixed on them, because he too could snese their pwoers. The cat figure was strong..but jsut how strong?
The answers are to come..as the tournament gets under way.

The elimination rounds were now beginning. Over 200 fighters were geared up and ready to fight; but only 12 would make it to the final rounds.
Everyone drew a number seeing who would fight who. The suspense was killin' everybody. So the gang drew out their numbers to see where they woulds tand. They soon read their numbers.
"Hmm...this paper ehre says I'm #47" Shen said
"Mine says #28" Vector replied.
"I'm #51" Danni exclaimed.
"#109 for me." Crash said.
"I'm #13. Whoa..I'm further." Coco said proudly.
"Mine says #78" said a familar voice.
"Mine's #54" said another familiar voice.
The gang turned aroudn to see tow familiar faces. It was Vector and Monnika. Vector was flabergasted!
"GYWAH!!!!" Vector sqeualed surprisingly "M..M..Monik..Monik....Sweety..you entered the fight too?"
"(Looking at Vector and smiling) Of course silly," She said "I figured our chances be better that way to win the prize money.
"But..er..what if I ahve to um..fight you?" Vector said hesitantly.
"Well..." Monnika replied "well that's a risk I'm willing to take honey!"
"ACK!!!!" Vector shouted. (Vector faints anime style on the ground.)
"Oh dear." Monnika replied "Don't worry..I won';t be TOO ahrd on ya. (Smiles and gives a peace sign.)"
" i'm gonan eb fightin' too ya know!!" Snappy said standing by Monnika.
"Long tiem no see pal." Shen replied. ".how's it been for you?"
"Cool as ever!!" Snappy replied "Did ya know my own son's herwe watchin' em too?"
"Oh..Midge's here?" Coco asked.
"Yep..my ol' midget's watchin' the fight! Course I don't know what ui'm really up against..but hey...I guess soem amusement's better than none." Snappy said back.
"(Collecting himself and getting back up.) Er guys..I hope you should realize that because of my power." Vector said ".I probably will hurt you alot even if I jsut touch you. So pelase..just drop the elimnination rouns. It could be too dangeorus."
"(frowning) Oh lighten up Vector!!" Monnika excalimed. "I ain't stayin' in the stands to watch you ya know! I came to fight too...so expect to see some action."
"We alla re hoping to see some" Crash said "...especially me. We all trained our very best."
"Hoo boy..and ever." Coco explained "Shen's esepcuially nervous..his wife's there with his daughter."
"and they're recoprding the whole bleedin' fight." Danni replied.
"Best of luck to ya Shenny!! Make your wife an' kid proud!" snappy said.
"(smiling) Don't worry...I'm gonna do my best." Shen replied.
Everyone smiled and laughed withe ach other. But the did not realize the mysterious cat figure watching them form thr distance..keeping his eye on them. He stood silently. He ahd already drawn hsi number. He was #36.
"MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!!!" The announcer called out."THE ELIMINATION ROUNDS HAVE BEGUN!! WILL #47 AND #59 ENTER THE RING NOW!!!"
"Oh boy..that's me!!" Shen said "Welp..time to start this thing! Seeya guys in the ring."
"Knock em' dead Shen." Crash said "Not literally of course. "
"We'll eb rootin' for ya!" Coco said.
"go get em!" Vector replied.
"You can do IT!!" Snappy said.
"Thanks guys!!" Shen replied "Later."
Shen entered the ring, and faced his first opponent. #59 was a very large fighter. He was a giant, fat, Scottich bear wearing a kilt and white shirt. He stood about ten feet tall; and ahd a goofy epxression on his face! His name was McKack!
Note: McKack sounds like 'Fat Bastard' from 'Austin Powers!' ^^
"BWA HAH HA!! YER THE ONE I'M FIGHTIN'!???" McKack bellowed laughing "WHAT A JOKE!! YOU'RE SMALLER THAN THAT BOIL I LANCED A WEE HOUR AGO!!"
"Right" Shen replied calmly(closign his eyes with a huge sweat drop.)"..anyway friend, I should tell ya that I'ma fraid you can't judge a book by it's voer. I may be a bit smaller than you..but you're jsut being too cocky."
"OH WHO YOU KIDDIN'!!??" McKack laughed loduly "I'M GONNA BEAT YA WEE MAN...I'LL GRIND YA INTO HAGGUS!!!"
Shen jsut sighed. *SIGH* (Again..the sweat drop. ^^)
The announcer then made hsi full appearance. He was a kangaroo in a business suit, with dark hair and glasses, and held the mike to his mouth.
"OkaY!!" The Announcer yelled "The elimination roundsa are now beginning..with our first two fighters. #47, Shen Lo Ken, and #59, McKack!! LEt's get things started. They each ahve one minute to either knock one of them out; either physically or out of the ring. And the rules are always: No crying, no cheap weapons to be sued, and absolutelky NO groin kicking! With that said..let's get this match started. Are you readY!?!?"
"READY!?!? BWA HA HA HA!!!" The overly cocky McKack bellowed "I ONLY NEED 2 SECONDS TO SEND THIS PAJAMA WEARIN' PANSY OUT OF THIS MANKY RING!!"
"You're gonna regret saying that." shen said calmly.
"OH AM I REALLY!?!?" McKAck said laughing wickedly "COME ON YA SOD...I'LL TEAR YA LIMB FROM LIMB!!"
"RIght." Shen said sarcastiocally "Big klutz!"
"Fighters....." The Announcer said. (he waited for the sound of the bell. The bell regan, and it was now his signal.) "..BEGIN!!!"
The fight ebgan. Shen jsut stood there with an annoyed expression on his face as McKack made his over to him!!
"WHAT'S WRONG WEE MAN!?!?" McKack laughed loudly "DOES OL' MCKACK HERE SCARE THE LIGHT OUTTA YA!?!? SHOULDA KNOWN!! NOW WATCH THIS!!!"
"sigh" Shen said rolling his eyes "Here he comes.."
"TIME FOR MY FAMOUS BAGPIPE PILEDRIVE ATTACK!!!" McKAck yelled.
"Oh God" Shen said to himslef "He evne came up with a really stupid fighting name. This clown's history!"
"RRRRAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!" McKack roared. He then leaped into the air, and ebgna spinning around like a tornado. He then was ehading straight towards Shen. Within the tornado..McKack caught sight of Shen.
"HERE I COME LADDIE!!" he yelled "PREPARE TO FELL ME PAIN!!!"
As McKack twirled towards Shen, Shen held out his fist. McKack then slammed right into it; face first.
as expected; McKack soon became dizzy. His eyes bulged out, and his mouth appeared to be missing some teeth. He slammed agianst Shen's fist; and was sent flying way out of the ring. McKack then slammed into the wall, creating a huge hole in it. He laid unconcious..but could still speak.
"Uh..uh...ugh...." Mcack said dizzily (Eyes rolling in swirls.) "I..I...lost o...the lad."
"WELL!!" The announcer yelled "McKack's outta the ring! #47 advances."
Shen then stepped silently outta the ring. He seemed dissapointed.
"Aw man" shen said "I really wanted a good challenge. That guy was just way to easy!!"
"Better luck next time" Vector said "Anyway..you advanced..so that's cool."
"Yeah" shen said "Hopefully..the challenges'll be better!!"
"AND NOW.." the announcer yelled out "WILL #23 AND #17 COME INTO THE RING PLEASE!!"
"That's me" Vector said "See you guys in the ring."
"gog et em" Crash said.
"You'll win" Danni said.
"You bet" Vector said (giving the thumbs up.)
Vector then entered the ring. His opponent #17 was a wolf dressed in a red gi. his name was Bander.
"you my opponent?" Vector said.
"that's right" Bander said sinsiterly "And I'm gonna take you outta the ring spotty!!"
"Spotty?" Vector asked angrilly "Oh you're on thin ice now pal!"
"OKAY..LET'S GET THE NEXT MATCH STARTED!!" the announcer called out "we have #23, Vector Yamazaki, and #17, Bander Fresk. Now....(the bell rang)..BEGIN!!"
Bander then reared on his hind legs and leaped into the air.
"NOW PUNY MUTT!!" Bander yelled "FEEL MY FULL MOON KICK!!"
"I swear" Vector said sighing as he jsut stood there "He jsut amde that name up!"
"FULLL MOOOONNNN KICCCCCKKKK!!!!!" Bander yelled. He then flung his leg at Vector's head. The elg was glowing bright blue; but it didn't bother vector at all.
In fact, Vector jsut blocked it with his finger. Bander was suspended in mid-air..and Vector stood there calmly..blocking Bander's move with just a finger.
"WHAT!?!?" Bander yelled surprisingly "HE..HE DIDN'T!!"
"Just no skill." Vector said calmly.
Vector then flipped his fingers onto Bander's face. Bander was then sent flying out of the ring, and crashing into the nearby wall. He was out cold, on the ground.
"OKAY!!" The Announcer yelled "Bander is out!! #23 ADVANCES!!"
Vector silently exited the ring.
"Welp Shen" Vector said calmly. "Now we're even. Both of our opponents so far were big time losers!"
"Yeah" Shen sighed "Figures that only the lsoers fightr first."
And the matchw ent on..and the silent #36..the silent cat stillw atched our heroes. What does he have in stroe for em? Foudn out mroe as the fight progresses.
