About Us,

The Rock was founded in 2010 and has since been working with young people both in day time re-engagement work and evening youth work in a variety settings including our mobile skatepark. Below are our mission statement and our vision as a charity!

1.1.Mission

Our mission is to provide an inspiring Christian youth work context for young people, regardless of faith or backgroundto engage with challenging activities, learn essential life skills and to develop their spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing.

1.2.Vision

Our vision is to provide a well respected, vibrant and diverse youth work hub; involving, supporting and engaging a growing number of young people and their wider community.

The Rock has decided that we would like to support two young people in the form of The Rock Sponsorship with potential for expansion in the future.

Role responsibilities.

1.1.Represent us at competitions and events with objects provided and to act in a way, which is in responsible and respectful manner.

1.2.Allow Media including videos and photographs to be used for the purpose of advertising our events etc. on social media and our website.

1.3.Act in a respectful and responsible manner when around The Rocks site and whenever wearing any of The Rock’s Branding.

1.4.Attend three out of four Scoot and Skate sessions a month and provide Coaching and support for those attending the sessions. 6-7.30pm Thursday evenings.

1.5.Candidates that are 16 years old and above must undertake a DBS check which will be provided.

SAS: Scoot and Skate.

What is SAS?

Scoot and Skate is our mobile Skate park facility that is designed for Scooters and Skateboards and allows for younger beginners to experience a skate park and learn new skills in a safe environment.

Rock Support.

The Rock aims to support all our volunteers and staff alike and appreciate all the support we gain as well as supporting our young people as a sponsored rider of the rocks you will gain the following support after a 6 week probationary period and subject to DBS results. The Rock reserves the right to cancel sponsorship at anytime during this time and after but you will be provided with reasoning behind the decision.

Provision List:

1.1.T-shirts, Stickers and potentially other branded merchandise bearing The Rocks logo.

1.2.Free entry to all SAS sessions and free entry and travel on all SAS relevant trips i.e. Rush Skate park.

1.3.Input on all things SAS from skate park setup and any other changes you might see or want for these sessions.

1.4.Support for employment through experience in a youth work and peer mentoring setting and Cover notes etc. if requested.

1.5.In house training and potential for out sourced training resulting in qualifications.

1.6.Use of SAS equipment Ramps, scooters, helmets including tooling and stands in our workshop.

1.7.Access to a fully qualified mechanic for support in maintaining and learning to maintain your equipment.

1.8.Potential for event support in the form of transport or funding subject to authorisation.

1.9.Provide individual support for your website/ you tube channels if applicable and subject to check on whether the material is suitable. (we are a youth organisation after all!)

1.10.Potential access to other activities including but not limited to Archery, Mountain biking and Basketball.

1.11.Ask! If there is any other support you think we can or should be offering you or other young people here ask there are only two potential outcomes!
