A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE HUNTERKINARDTYLER LADY TROJANS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING WIN OF THE CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACH, TONIA YOUNG, ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.
Whereas, excellence in basketball demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, using those talents and attributes, Coach Tonia Young, Assistant Coaches Ella Jones, Joanna Milledge, and Kevin Coleman, and the members of the HunterKinardTyler Girls Basketball Team finished an incredible 282 season by winning the Class A State Championship; and
Whereas, defeating the BlackvilleHilda Lady Hawks in the final game, players stayed calm and focused, pushing through a tough first half to dominate the second half, scoring an outstanding forty points in that period alone; and
Whereas, the hardfought victory was truly a team effort, as players poured all of themselves into securing the win for their school; and
Whereas, team standouts Ashley Patterson, Crystal Robinson, and Natalie Vaughn led the team to the ultimate distinction in scoring and making incredible plays; and
Whereas, other valuable team members included Shamanita Patterson, Jvonne Belle, Santana Clemons, Shalika Smalls, Shadonis Stephens, Talena Milhouse, and Kienda Stroman; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pride in commending the young women of the HunterKinardTyler High School Girls Basketball Team for their tireless efforts and great determination in an outstanding season and recognize them as veritable model student athletes. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the HunterKinardTyler Lady Trojans Girls Basketball Team for its outstanding win of the Class A State Championship title, and honor the players and their coach, Tonia Young, on an exceptional season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the players, coaches, and school officials of the HunterKinardTyler Lady Trojans Girls Basketball Team.
