Dear Parents/Guardians of Students in Grades Pre-K through 2nd Grade:
The New York City Department of Education (DOE) offers Gifted & Talented Programs for students identified as gifted and talented as determined by specific G&T assessments. The DOE provides testing for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 2 Students who are current New York City residents and wish to be considered for self-contained Gifted & Talented Programs.
If you are interested in learning more information about the Gifted & Talented program go to or please stop by the Main Office to pick up the Gifted & Talented Handbook. You may also request that a handbook be backpacked home with your child by sending me a note.
Only those students who receive ENL services, will be eligible to take the test in their home language at one of the designated testing sites.
Please note: The deadline to sign up to request to have your child tested is November 13, 2017. Tests are administered in early January. You may sign up online at

Can you please advise if your classes are interested in receiving extra Math Help from Mr. Andrew Hollander, who has helped 3rd, 4th & 5th grade classes over the last several years.
3rd grade has asked for him to come Monday & Friday mornings at 9:30 & 10:15, respectively. So perhaps you would like to tag onto one of those days??
He is Eager to get started so he will be coming this Friday, Oct. 6 to start with 2 of their 3rd Grade classes.
