It gives me great pleasure to welcome you and your child to the P.S. 139 family.
In order to make your child feel as comfortable as possible, we want to introduce your child to morning arrival at P.S. 139 gradually. Regular school hours for the 2014 – 2015 school year are 8:10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; Kindergarten dismissal is through Exit D, in the Cortelyou Road play yard. Please follow the schedule below:
September 4th Half day 8:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Classes begin. Kindergarten students arrive at 8:30 a.m. and are dismissed at 11:45 a.m. Arrival is in the auditorium for today only.
September 4th Orientation 11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Kindergarten orientation will be held in your child’s classroom. All Kindergarten parents/guardians are encouraged to attend this important meeting.
September 5th Half day 8:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Kindergarten students arrive at 8:30 a.m. Parents will escort their children to their classrooms, entering via the Cortelyou playground door (Exit D). Students are dismissed at 11:45 a.m.
September 8th Full day 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Kindergarten students arrive at 8:30 a.m. and are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Parents will escort their children to their classrooms, entering via the Cortelyou playground door (Exit D).
September 9th through September 12th Full day 8:10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Kindergarten students arrive at 8:10 a.m. and are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Parents will escort their children to their classrooms, entering via the Cortelyou playground door, Exit D.
Beginning on September 15th 8:10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Now that your child has become familiar with our staff and school building, students will enter through the Breakfast Door (Exit C) at 8:10 a.m. The Breakfast Door is located on Rugby Road, off Cortelyou Road.
Name tags will be distributed on the first day of school. Please have your child wear it for the first two weeks of school so staff can direct your child efficiently.
