The Education and Culture Centre of the Jewish Museum in Prague offers programmes for schools and also seminars for teachers within the framework of further education of pedagogical workers who deal with the history of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust.

The projects Neighbours Who Disappeared and Tribute to Child Victims of the Holocaust
The project Neighbours Who Disappearedasks young people to search for neighbours who disappeared from theirlocalneighbourhood mostly during World War II.
In 2004 a consecutive project Tribute to Child Victims of the Holocaust was launched. It mostly deals with pre-war Jewish pupils and students of the school that the pupils and students attend today. A common exhibition is being established with the goal of presenting local, national and international student work, presented by the students themselves and by an original memorial tablet placed in the school.

The Foundation for Holocaust Victims
The Foundation for Holocaust Victims is a non-profit organization established by the Federation of Jewish Communities in the CzechRepublic in 2000. It is a member of the Association of Endowment Funds by the Forum of Donators and it is bound by the Principles of Ethic Behaviour of Endowment Funds.
They have supported 120 projects within the framework of being a dignified reminder of the Holocaust victims and educational activities so far.

Terezín Initiative Institute - website
The aim of the website ( is to provide information, documents and further materials on the genocide of the Jews and Roma during World War II and on the history of racism and anti-Semitism. The website holocaust.cz should contribute to the education against racism, whose manifestations are unfortunately still present in our society. The sites are run by the Terezín Initiative Institute.

The Museum of Romani Culture, Brno
The Museum of Romani Culture belongs among those museums that ceased to concentrate only on collection activities and thanks to its educational programmes, opened up to the general public. One of the main topics of the Museum of Romani Culture is the history of Roma people, whose indivisible part is the Holocaust. The Museum therefore offers educational programmes on this topic to schools and other organized groups.

Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation
In 1994 Steven Spielberg founded a non-profit organization called Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation to film testimonies of people who survived the Holocaust and of other eyewitnesses as well.
The Shoah Foundation focuses now on using the educational potential of its rich and comprehensive archive. The goal of the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation is to overcome prejudices, intolerance and religious fundamentalism – and the suffering caused by these as well – with the help of educational pictorial testimonies from its archive.

Face to Face with History
A new programme, which is the Czech analogy of the international course Facing History and Ourselves (FHAO), offers an original view of history and of the fields of education which history can be linked with. It is intended (not only) for the teachers of history, literature and social sciences. The civic society AISIS was charged with running the programme in the CzechRepublic.
Currently the programme is made up of weekend workshops and five-day seminars (both activities are accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as programmes of further education of pedagogical workers).

The Education Department of the Terezín Memorial
The main goal of the Education Department of the Terezín Memorial is to organize one- and several-day seminars for pupils, students and teachers focusing on the Holocaust history, the problems of anti-Semitism, racism and intolerance in the society – in the past and present.

Hidden Child
The purpose of the organization is to represent the common interests of all the children in Europe who survived the Holocaust, when dealing with other organizations and institutions; to provide information about the children who survived and to present it to the public and to remove misunderstanding, ignorance and the remains of anti-Semitism in member states.

Nicolas Winton – Strength of Humanity: the educational programme Lottery of Life
A special interactive educational programme, whose part is screening the film with a following talk to “Winton’s children” who live in the Czech Republic,. The project is to involve students in a detective investigation for more than 400 “Winton’s children” who have not been found yet.

The Jewish Memorial Černovice
The memorial to the Holocaust victims is in a small village near Pelhřimov and offers programmes for schools and teachers. The special feature of this project is that seminar participants can get acquainted with the local and regional history and learn about the fates of particular families. Worksheets are available. The project was created in collaboration with the Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno. The Jewish Memorial Černovice was unveiled on 10th November 2002 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the deportation of local Jewish inhabitants to the Nazi concentration camps.

The Centre of Ecumenical Meeting and Dialogue in Olomouc
Apart from other things, the Centre of Ecumenical Meeting and Dialogue deals with the dialogue of the Jews and Christians and also with the history of Jewish-Christian relations in the past and present. Attention is also paid to the relations between the Jews and Muslims.
