Dr.Noureddine Melikechi was born in 1958 in TheniaBoumerdes,Algeria.After graduating from Thénia’s middle school, the young scientist left his town for the Lycee Abane Ramdane in El-Harrachwhere he received his Baccalaureate in Mathematics. He wentto theUniversity Houari Boumediene of Sciences and Technologyof Algiers where he got adiploma of high studiesin Physics. He went to England where he worked towards his Master and Doctorate.After that,hejoined the University of Sciences and Technology in Algiers as an Assistant Professor of Physics as part of his national service (1988-1990).Melikechi left for the USA in 1990 where he worked on different research programs.He received numerous prestigious awards.Now, he is theDean of the College of Mathematics,NaturalSciences and Technology in Delaware University. He also leads one of the data analysis team of the NASA Mars Rover mission.Governor Markellof Delaware named Melikechi the "Delaware’sAmbassador to Mars,” /
