New York Radio Station is Counting Down the Favorite 1,019 Rock Songs of All Time as Decided by Listeners!

New York, NY (August 19th, 2009) – 101.9 RXP (WRXP) “The New York Rock Experience” is giving listeners the chance to choose the station’s “First Annual Definitive 1019 Countdown” which will air Labor Day Weekend (September 4th-7th, 2009).

"New York is a city of lists, but nobody has truly captured the essence of the rock experience in the tri-state" said Director of Marketing Brian D'Aurelio,"This list will be an un-edited voice of the people and not guided by any corporate playlists orformat preferences...RXP is finally compiling the definitive list of the people!"

Through August 31st listeners will have the opportunity to choose 20 of their favorite rock songs at 1019rxp.com.Listeners will be able to nominate any song; however, there are rules! For instance, listeners can’t repeat an artist! The full list of rules can be found at 1019rxp.com.

"This will ultimately be decided by 101.9 RXP listeners who are true music aficionados! I can't wait to see the results,'" saysThe Rock Show’sco-host and RXP Program Director, Leslie Fram.

Although the results will ultimately be determined by the listeners, 101.9 RXP will be revealing ballots created by an expert panel, including the 101.9 RXP air staff and music advisory committee.

Today Matt Pinfield revealed his list during The Rock Showwith Matt Pinfield and Leslie Fram. Matt’s list included, The Jam’s “Going Underground,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Candy’s Room,” and The Smiths’ “How Soon is Now.” Matt’s full list can be found below and at 1019rxp.com.

The votes will be calculated and the top 1,019 songs will be counted down Labor Day Weekend beginning Friday, September 4th at 6AM and ending sometime in the afternoon or evening on Monday, September 7th.
