To be held at Quail Valley Golf Course 2880 La Quinta Dr. Missouri City, TX 281-403-5910The Deafblind Multihandicapped Association of Texas (DBMAT) is a Texas wide non-profit organization made up of families and professionals close to and/or concerned for the well being of deafblind individuals. One of the primary goals of DBMAT is to advocate for deafblind individuals to have people around them that can relate and communicate with them to help improve their quality of life on a daily basis. In an effort to make this available to them, DBMAT has been granting scholarships for the special people that are working with deafblind individuals, who want to learn more about deafblindness and how to help the people they are working with. These special people are referred to as Interveners.
DBMAT has granted scholarships for college level courses totaling over $46,000.00. As there are over 800 deafblind individuals throughout Texas, there is so much more education and awareness to be done. DBMATis hosting our 6th Golf Tournament to raise money to bring awareness to the community, to support the families that have a child with deafblindness, to assist with deafblind education, and to continue to award scholarships for training to the Interveners who are working with children and adults that are deafblind.
We hope you will come out to play with us and help benefit the life of deafblind people!
DBMAT wants to honorthe memory of Christian Knapp (1980-2005), who was able to impress upon us all what a differencea quality Intervener can make!
