The clinical observation of treatment effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 320 cases of Betch’sdisease

Objective:To observe the curative effects of Chinese medicine treatmentonBetch’sdisease. Methods: Using "special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment" to treat 320 patients with Betch’s disease,the course of treatment was 1 to 2 months.

Results: Of 320 cases, 231 cases of clinical cure, 64 cases were markedly improved(symptoms disappeared), improved in 18 cases, and 7 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 97.8%. The clinical observationshowed that the curative effect was remarkable.

Conclusion:The"special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment"iseffective formulas to treat the Betch’sdisease, and be worth promoting widely in clinical practice.

Betch 'sdisease(BD), is a common disease occurs mostly in young adults, which mainly leading to oral ulcers, genital ulcers, eye inflammation and skin lesions, involved a verities of system in the body. The disease is characterized by chronic, progressive, recurrentfeatures.The cause of the disease may be associated with infections, immune disorders, genetic factors, trace elements and other related [1]. Currently, there were no specific methods for the treatment of the disease,corticosteroids and immunosuppressant were used in the routinetherapy, but withgreaterlong-term side effects and easy to relapse after drug withdrawal.

The "special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment"was invented by several doctors including Wangrong, Shi Huaili, etc, who worked in BaiCaoJiSheng traditional Chinese medicine clinic,according to many years’ clinical experience.The"special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment"is based on 12 plant components. Since January 2009, 320 cases of Betch’s diseasehas been chosen and treated by "special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment", a remarkable clinical curative effect was obtained.

1.1 General information

Totally, 320 cases in this group, 26 to 65 years of age, the averageageis 38years.All the selected patients were clinic patients and with thesymptoms of recurrent oral ulcers, multiple-genital ulcers andeye inflammation. Of these cases, 289 patients with different degree of eye inflammation, 316 cases with skin lesions, 242 cases of pin-prick test positive result, 195 cases had symptoms of other systems.All 320 cases had a history of glucocorticoidmedication.

1.2 The diagnostic criteria of Betch’s disease

All the cases were diagnosedaccording to the diagnostic criteriacreated by the world organization of Betch’s disease, that is:

(1): recurrent oral ulcersoccurredmore than 3 times/year;

(2) recurrent genital ulcer;

(3) eyelesion: eye pigment membrane inflammation, vitreous opacity, retinal vasculitis;

(4) skin lesions: skin nodular erythema, pseudo-folliculitis, purulent pimples, acne-like rash (without using glucocorticoid);

(5) the pin-prick test positive. All the cases can be confirmed with the symptom of (1) combined with 2 of the remaining 4 itemsabove.

1.3 Treatment

With ingested "special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment": Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome, Lily, Fructus Mume, Liquorice, Tripterygium, Angelica Root, Honeysuckle, etc., 1 does every day, making decoction and given in divided doses, 2 times a day, 15 days was a course of treatment,

After 3-5courses of treatment, curative effect can be judgedaccording to the patients’ conditions.

The externally applied agent for Ulcer:HerbaEpimedii,Catechu, Shawl, Borneol and so on,

3 to 4 times daily.

heredity, infection, immune disorders, trace elements and other factors.Corticosteroids and immunosuppressant were used in the routinetherapy,but withgreater long-term side effects and easy to relapse after drug withdrawal.

The "special prescription for Betch’s disease treatment" is consisted of 12 traditional Chinesemedicineherbs.It has been used in china with a history of more than 3000 years, with a very safe performance.
