CLC Alumni Association Board announces the availability of theUniversityCenter of Lake County Scholarship

The CLC Alumni Association Board is pleased to announce the “University Center of Lake County Scholarship” for the 2010 academic year. This scholarship is designed to assist a College of Lake County graduate transferring to a participating college or university at the University Center of Lake County. The scholarship may be used towards the cost of attendance at your institution as determined by the financial aid department.

To be eligible for the scholarship program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • be enrolled in or admitted to a participating college or university at the University Center of Lake County;
  • be considered a domestic student per your institution’s admissions office;
  • be eligible to receive the scholarship per your institution’s financial aid guidelines;
  • be a member in good standing of the CLC Alumni Association;
  • graduated with an associate degree from the College of Lake County;
  • earned the equivalent of a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on 4.0 scale;
  • accepted and enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at a UCLC participating college.

All applications must be postmarked no later than August 16, 2010. Incomplete applications and those received after the deadline will not be considered. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. If you are selected as the recipient, the award payment will be made to your institution’s office of financial aid in September 2010. Recipients of the UCLC Scholarship will be informed in writing after verification that CLC graduation requirements have been completed.

TYPED ESSAY SECTION

In 500 typed words or less, tell us about yourself and your personal and career goals. Explain how a college education will help you reach your goals, why you’re choosing to stay in LakeCounty to continue your education, and why this scholarship is important to you.

THE APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • completed application form;
  • typed essay in triplicate;
  • one official (closed and sealed) CLC transcript;
  • one letter of recommendation from a CLC faculty member;
  • one photocopy of acceptance letter from the college/university you are or will be attending.

  1. Return completed application and additional materials to the Alumni Relations Office by the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  1. A photocopy of acceptance letter from the college/university you are or will be attending.
  1. One letter of recommendation from a CLC faculty member.
  1. All applicants will be notified by mail of the scholarship committee’s decision.
