Compliance clause:The Federal Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008 mandates that the University provide a listing of all course materials to students prior to course registration. The OSU Beaver Store has been providing this information to students since well before the Act was passed, and currently handles HEOA compliance for OSU.

AutoAccess

A collaborative program between OSU Beaver Store, faculty, and publishers to provide more affordable digital materials to students quickly and easily through Canvas.

How does it work?

  • Faculty work with the publisher rep and the Beaver store to establish cost savings and coordinate implementation.
  • Often a “print upgrade” is available after the digital book is accessed for those students wanting to purchase a physical copy.
  • Students dropping within the first two weeks of the term are eligible for a refund.

  • Contact either the publisher rep associated with your adopted course materials or you can contact James Howard at the OSU Beaver Store.

Open Educational Resources (OER)

The Valley Library's Center of Digital Scholarship and Services (CDSS) is collaborating with OSU Beaverstore to provide access to any OER content that they may have.

What should I submit on the online requisition form for OER?

  • If you have materials that are available as readings via CANVAS simply adopt:

Textbook Lending Program

This program allows eligible OSU studentsthe opportunity tocheck out textbooks at no cost for the entire academic term!The program starts the first week of class and operates on a first come, first serve basis.

How does it work?

  • As of September 2017, the program currently has books for181 courses!
  • Most of the textbooks are either donated or purchased.
