Gold Coast and Districts Rugby Union Objective

The aim of the application process is to ensure a quality experience for all involved with Gold Coast and Districts Rugby Union’s Representative Programs. It is important we select Team Management staff that provides the participants with a high quality environment and overall experience appropriate to their age, maturity, gender and skill level.

Gold Coast and Districts Rugby Union is committed to the development of both coaches and players to the highest standard possible.

Applications are called for the following positions for the Gold Coast Teams competing in the 2017Queensland Rugby Junior State Championships to be held in Brisbane.

Teams:

  • U12
  • U13
  • U14
  • U16

Positions:

  • Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach

  • Current ARU Accreditation as per table below
  • Current Queensland Government Blue Card
  • Ability to attend ALL Selection Events, Training Sessions, Meetings and Championships

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

All Positions

  • Previous Experience in the following areas;
  • With an Australian Rugby Union Representative Team
  • With a Queensland Rugby Union Representative Team
  • With a Gold Coast and Districts Rugby Union Representative Team
  • With a Regional Representative Team
  • With a Queensland Rugby or Australian Rugby High Performance Program (e.g. Junior Gold)
  • School or Club Representative Teams
  • Ambition to attain a higher level of accreditation in the future
  • Strong history of service to Rugby Union

Please Note: It is preferable that team management do not have involvements with teams which include their sons/daughters. GCDRU reserves the right to appoint a parent to a team management position if it deems there are no other suitable coaches to fill the position and is confident the person can perform his/her duties in an impartial manner.

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT

All Team Management must agree to the following requirements if appointed to a position

  • Appointment to a position is for 12 months ONLYand successful applicants must reapply for a position in subsequent years.
  • Must adhere to the Australian Rugby Union and Gold Coast and Districts Rugby Union Code of Conduct
  • Must hold a Current Blue Card
  • Must attend ALL relevant Selection Events, Meetings, Training Sessions and Competition Games
  • Team Management will abide by the GCDRU Selection Policy
  • Team Management will maintain consistent contact with GCDRU providing and receiving feedback, advice, input and development.
  • Uphold the reputation and values of GCDRU at all times.
