Blind Fetch
Participants: 10-20
Equipment: blindfolds and objects to fetch
Time: 20-30 min.
-Have the group split into pairs. Each pair has an object to fetch. One person in each pair is blindfolded and the other is the guide. The blindfolded person must fetch the object.
Blind Polygon
Participants: 10-20
Equipment: rope and a blindfold per person
Time: 20-30 min.
-Blind fold the group and give them each a section of rope that has been tied into a loop. Ask them to create a shape. When the group thinks that they are finished, they may remove their blindfolds and take a look.
Bomb Squad
Participants: 10-15
Equipment: can of beans
Time: 20-30 min.
-The object is for the group to take the bomb to the bomb disposal unit 20 feet away. Only two members of the group (the bomb specialists) may touch the bomb. If they are touching the bomb, they may not touch the ground. If they goof….KABLUEEY!
Calculator (Key Punch)
Participants: 10-30
Equipment: 30 tiles number from 1-30, rope
Time: 20-30 min.
-Have a rope in the form of a large rectangle on the ground with the numbers spread throughout the area. The odd numbers should be on one side and the evens should be on the other, and they should be all scrambled. The group should be out of sight of this “keypad” when you explain the challenge. The group needs to touch all the numbers in order. Only one person is allowed on the key pad at a time. This is a timed activity and the time will start when the first person crosses the start line and will stop when the last person crosses back over the line. That is the general idea of the activity.

Egg Drop
Participants: 10-15
Equipment: eggs, newspaper, straws, tape, etc…
Time: 20-30 min.
-Have students create a contraption that will protect an egg when it is dropped. Demonstrate the different creations and see which can be dropped from the highest point.
Goose Chase (Communication Breakdown)
Participants: 10-15
Equipment: objects, blindfolds, and a rope
Time: 20-40 min.
-The object is for a group of mute individuals to communicate a task to the three blindfolded individuals via a sighted speaking person that cannot see the blindfolded folks. The task can include anything from tying a bandanna around a rubber chicken to holding up signs in order. The mute people cannot cross a rope line. The person who is the messenger cannot turn around to face the blindfolded people. They must sit facing the muted folks. The blindfolded folks are on the other side of the rope line. Have fun with it!
Hazardous Waste (Pot-O-Gold)
Participants: 10-20
Equipment: bike tube with four long ropes tied to it, a can of water or beans, hula hoop
Time: 20-30 min.
-Place the can of beans in the middle of a large circle. The object is for the group to remove the can from the circle and place it in the hula hoop without spilling any. The only tools they have are the tube with the ropes tied to it. No part of anyone may enter the circle or the area above the circle.
Meuse
Participants:10-20
Equipment: 12 cinder blocks and 32 X 8’s
Time: 20-30 min.
-The object is for the group to get from one point A to point B without touching the ground in between. The boards only fit between the blocks straight across not diagonally. There is a great write up in Cowstails and Cobras II.
Monster (4 Pointer)
Participants: 10-20
Equipment: none
Time: 10-15 min.
-The group must get from point A to point B using half of the group’s arms. See what kind of crazy monster your group creates.
Nitro Crossing (Prouty’s Landing, Disc Jockey)
Participants: 10-20
Equipment: rope swing, bike tires, platforms
Time: 10-20 min.
-The group must get from one side to the other using the rope swing. You can have your group land on platforms like an all aboard or into bike tires.
Paper Chute (Feed the Dragon)
Participants: 10-20
Equipment: plate, sheets of recycled paper
Time: 20-30 minutes
-Have the group figure out how to get the most paper onto the plate from the balcony of the barn. The person that drops it must have their waist below the railing so the danger of a flip over the railing is minimal.
Pea Soup (Mt.Tops, Broken Bridge)
Participants:10-20
Equipment: three platforms, two 2X8 planks
Time: 20-40 min.
-The objective is for the group to get from the first platform to the third, via the second, using the two planks. No one may touch the ground in between the first and the third platform. The planks may not touch the ground either.
River Crossing (Stepping Stones)
Participants: 10
Equipment: one board for each person
Time: 20-40 min.
-The group must get from one line to another line. The boards must always be touched by a member of the group if they are between the two lines. If a board is left unattended, take it away. The entire group must end up on the other side.
Traffic Jam
Participants: 10-15
Equipment: nine things to mark spots
Time: 20-30 min.
-Have 8 people line up in a straight line with a spot in the middle, 4 on either side. The object is for the groups to switch places. Silver Bullets has a right up on it.
Trolleys
Participants: 10-15
Equipment: trolleys
Time: 10-20 min.
The group must get from one line to the next using only the trolleys. They may not touch the ground between the lines.
