Guidance Notes
Background
Access LN6 is a £6.5million programme which aims to improve sustainable transport options in the LN6 area and increase opportunities to walk, cycle and use public transport, as well as improving health throughout the community.
Lincolnshire Sport’s new project LN6 Active is part of this programme and will offer grants of up to £1,000 for community groups and organisations which want to encourage more people to be active, more often.
Funding Available
The maximum grant available is £1,000
The grant cancover 100% of the project costs up to the maximum level of the grant
Priorities
The grant can only be used for community events and activities within LN6 postcode area that will directly result in more people being more active on a regular basis.
They must:
  • Take place within the LN6 postcode area
  • Help promote participation in physical activity particularly through volunteering effort
  • Uphold equalities and the principle of fair and open access to all local people
  • Be new and sustainable events or activities
Eligibility
To be eligible the group must:
  • Have a constitution or governing document.
  • Be a registered charity, voluntary group, sports club, parish council or social enterprise.
  • Have a bank account (or evidence that an account is being set up).

Examples of what the Fund will support
Revenue and capital costs.
Training.
Equipment purchase.
Volunteer expenses.
Meeting room/ hall hire
What the Fund will not support
Events of a political nature or that promote religious beliefs.
Events that require match funding where the match funding is not secured.
Events that are the responsibility of another authority.
Events run commercially for profit.
How to apply
  • Complete the application form in full.
  • Enclose a copy of your constitution or governing document.
  • Enclose your latest yearly accounts or last month’s bank statement.
  • Two quotes for any single item purchased over £50.
Application Process
Applications will be assessed by a Panel comprising of Lincolnshire County Council and Lincolnshire Sport representatives who have a sound knowledge andexperience of physical activity and sports development community projects.
The are deadline for applications is:
  • Monday 13th October 2014
Should the fund be undersubscribed, there will be a third deadline, yet to be announced.
All applicants will receive a letter within 3 weeks of the closing date indicating the outcome of the awarding panel.
Project delivery
The application is responsible for ensuring that they will undertake a risk assessment/s for the activities to ensure that all potential risks to all involved are minimised.
Funding
The application form should provide itemised lists of items to be purchased/paid for out of the grant. Up to 50% of the total grant can be payable in advance. The remaining 50% (or if the box is not ticked on the application form, 100%) will be paid within 30 days of receipt of evidence of expenditure including original receipts, and completed short report and evaluation document (template to be provided) together with photographs of activities.
Groups must agree to repay any funding for which there are no original receipts to Lincolnshire Sports Partnership within 30 days of the end of the activities/project.
If successful, an offer letter will be issued and the applicant must agree to the Terms andConditions of the grant. A grant acceptance form must be returned before any payment can bemade.
Payments required in advance will be made by BACS from Lincolnshire Sport within 14 days of the receipt of the completed grant acceptance form by Lincolnshire Sport.
Photographs/film should be provided with the report and evaluation at the end of the activity/project to Lincolnshire Sport and may be used for publicity purposes by the Access LN6 project and/or Lincolnshire Sport. Groups will be responsible for ensuring that permission from parents/carers will be granted for any photographs that will be taken at the activities.
