THE ZAGREB TOURIST BOARD WON THE PRIZE IN KOREA
Zagreb, June 19th, 2013 – At the recently held fair KOTFA (Korean Travel Fair) in Seoul, the Zagreb Tourist Board won the prize for the “Best Tourism Publicity Award“. Zagreb booth was exceptionally visited and the Zagreb Tourist Board also participated in a workshop in Seoul, where the director of the office, Ms Amelia Tomasevic PhD, held a special presentation.
The Zagreb Tourist Board has been extremely active in recent years in the Far East market, which is shown in the results achieved. Thus, from January to May this year, Zagreb recorded an increase of 36% in arrivals and 37% increase in overnight stays of Korean guests, which in numbers are 6,440 arrivals and 7,392 nights. Visitors from the Far East countries are experiencing Zagreb as a welcoming and romantic destination, which provides unquestionable charm and spacious pedestrian zones with many cafes with garden and street terraces scattered throughout the city.
It’s been four years since the first charter flights from Seoul landed in Zagreb and for all the passengers Zagreb Tourist Board has organized a special reception with folklore. Also, each passenger was gifted with a gingerbread heart and brochures of Zagreb in Korean language, which the Zagreb Tourist Board issued the first in Croatia. Cooperation has continued through following years, including this one, when in May in Zagreb landed three charter planes. In addition, the Zagreb Tourist Board has made a special film on the Koreans in Zagreb, and cooperates with the Croatian Association of Esperanto that, with its partners, in April of this year published famous Croatian book "Lapitch the Little Shoemaker " in Korean.
