*: The average weight of all fruit bodies was 17.24 g (±1.59). For BB, the average weight of harvested truffles was 16.43 g (± 2.46). For UL, average weights were 17.73 g (± 2.09); 18.42 g (±3.84) and 17.18 g (±2.22) for total UL samples, samples in 2011 and samples in 2013, respectively. A Pearson’s R correlation test was performed to investigate the correlation between biomass (weight of fruiting bodies) and maturity. The average degree of maturity of all fruit bodies was 69.64% (±2.58). For BB, the average degree of maturity was 76.96% (± 2.64). ForUL, the average degrees of maturity were 63.94% (± 3.95); 48.28% (±10.78) and 69.97% (±3.20) for total UL samples, samples in 2011 and samples in 2013, respectively. Over all samples, a weak significant correlation was found between maturity and weight, R = 0.28 (p-value = 0.006; Pearson's R Correlation Test). Within each population, different trends were found: R=0.42 (p-value = 0.001) for Total UL, R=0.62 (p-value = 0.01) for UL 2011, R=0.25 (p-value = 0.12) for UL 2013 and R= -0.01(p-value = 0.97) for BB.
