Summer Project

Did you know that colleges and universities are a leading industry in Washington, D.C. The nation’s capital is home to some of the most prestigious universities in the nation. Your summer project is a Naturalistic Observation focusing on the following universities:

American University

Catholic University of America

George Washington University

A naturalistic observation is a research method commonly used by social scientists. This technique involves observing subjects in their natural environments or observing people in selected environments. This type of research is often utilized in situations where conducting laboratory research is unrealistic, cost prohibitive or would unduly affect the subject’s behavior.

Assignment

For your summer assignment, you must visit the seven (7) universities in order to complete your naturalist observations. While each student is responsible for completing the project and submitting their results, you may want to plan your visits to DC with friends or family.
