SUMMARY OF RULES & REGULATIONS

GERMANCOAST FARMERS MARKET (GCFM)

2018

Listed below is a summary of the Rules and Regulations of GCFM. Vendors need to befamiliar with the complete Rules (which follow). In order to be a success, GCFM needs a stable group of farmers and value added vendors who sell their goods each and every week. We appreciate your help in making the market a successful enterprise.

Market Hours, Set-up & Clean-up:

  • Saturday Market Hours: 8:00 AM to Noon
  • Arrival Time – 7:00 AM
  • Ready to Sell by 7:45 AM
  • Clean-up complete by 12:30 PM
  • Wednesday Market Hours: 1:00 PM to 5:00PM
  • Arrival Time – 12:30 PM
  • Ready to Sell by 1:00 PM
  • Clean-up complete by 5:15 PM

Fees and Penalties

  • Annual Membership - $50
  • Seasonal Membership - $25 for 6 months or less
  • Daily booth rental for East Bank Saturday Market - $20
  • Daily booth rental for West Bank Wednesday Market - $15
  • Clean-Up Penalty - $10
  • Absence Penalty - $15 (Vendor must call by 6 PM of day prior to market. A $15 penalty fee will be charged at following market if the vendor is a “no show”. The regular market rental fee for that day will also be collected.)

General Rules

  1. Vendors must renew their application annually, listing products currently sold as well as new products. If vendors wish to add products during the year, they must submit a “new product” application
  2. Products must be labeled when required by local state and federal laws
  3. Each vendor MUST have a sign at every market, stating the name and location of the business.
  4. Product prices MUST be clearly displayed at every market.
  5. Vendors are encouraged to dress their tables to display products to best advantage. Tables must be FULLY covered by clean tablecloths.
  6. Seedling basket items will be collected at each market.
  7. Booth fees will be collected at each market and receipts issued
  8. Vendors must providegross sales report to Market Site Manager at the end of each market.
  9. Professional behavior and language is expected and profanity will not be tolerated.
  10. No smoking in the Market area.
  11. The Cottage Law is included in this packet.

It may be necessary to submit copies of the following documents upon application approval.

1)St. Charles Parish Tax ID (may be obtained by going to or

by visiting St. CharlesParishSchool Board Office (985.785.6289) *No Fee—No Renewal

2)St. Charles Parish Occupational License (Contact St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Dept. at

(985.783.6237) *Initial Fee $50. Must be renewed annually.

3)For St. Charles Parish Residents, SCP Home Occupational License by contacting the

Planning & Zoning Dept. (985.783.5067) *$25 Fee—No Renewal Required

4) For vendors who prepare food, a Food Preparation and Safety Class is required. Vendors

who prepare protein foods must do so in a certified kitchen
