The purposes of this assignment are to demonstrate how a Company should be, can be, organized for international business; and issues related to human resources international management. The Infosys and Tel-Comm-Tek (TCT) cases illustrate major issues in organizing Company operations and selecting staff for international operations.
Assignments:
TOPIC 1A: INFOSYS: Organizing for International Business.
Read this case study and respond to the following questions:
How might Infosys sustain its founding values as it grows and globalizes
What organizational problems do you think will prove troublesome to Infosys?

TOPIC 1C: Reflection.
Given what you have read - the Infosys case study, do you think you would like to work for Infosys? Why or why not? Justify your answer.
TOPIC 2: Staffing Operations - TCT.
Read the Tel-Comm-Tek case study. You are selecting the Managing Director (MD) for TCT. Briefly respond as follows:
Rank order the candidates from high to low. Which candidate would you recommend to the Selection Committee? Why did you select that person?

Topic 2 - contd:
What challenges might the person you recommend encounter if named MD? How can TCT minimize those challenges?
Based on information, your knowledge or research dealing with a matrix organizational structure, would you recommend two individuals to the same post, I.e. one person directing internal affairs, the other managing external affairs? What are the pros/cons of such arrangement? If feasible, provide a matrix organizational chart.
