Stock Market Project
STOCK MARKET PROJECT
Your task should you choose to accept it is to with a group of two other people invest $ 100,000.00 in five stocks. You must have at least FIVE stocks. Your project officially starts on Monday. You must check your stock everyday and make a daily print out of how the stock did. This information will be placed into your group binder at the end of the project.
Your binder should include:
- The price of each stock at time of purchase.
- The print outs of each stock for each day (Monday-Friday).
- A graph of each stock from beginning to end (on graph paper).
- Info on each stock and company (You can get this from a broker).
- 1 page summary on each stock.
- 1 page summary on why your group chose the stock.
- 1 page summary on how the stock did.
- 1 page detailing what each member of the group did.
At the end of the binder your group should include a 4-10 page summary on the experience. There should be one paper for each person. All papers should be typed and the only thing not typed is the graph.
Your paper should include:
- A summary of the experience.
- What you learned and how it related to this class.
- How it was working with the group and how you personally think each team member did.
- What did you and your team members agree or disagree on?
- Anything else you feel is relevant.
- You must use at least two outside sources and have an appropriate bibliography.
The binder is worth 450 points.
The paper is worth 300 points.
This is due on Tuesday Jan 27th. Late assignments will NOT be accepted.
GROUPS:
** Group assignments are final there will be no switches or trades.
***The assignment is due on the 1st and no later so that I have time to correct them and you can graduate.
****This is worth a lot of points and needs to be completed so if you have a problem with a group member come to me and we will figure something out.
*****You all can do a great job on this I know it seems like a lot but it really is not that hard of a project.
******You are responsible for info over the Spring Break and Days off from school.
SET UP STOCK PORTFOLIO
-go to
-Create a team log in
-Sign in
-Go to Finance
-Go to Portfolios
-Create a New Portfolio
- Name
- Enter Stock Symbols
- 1 then Enter (For all 5)
- Click on box next to “Email Portfolio”
-Click on Each symbol
- Write down previous close price (for all 5)
-Take Prev. Close prive and divide by 20,000 to get number of shares
-Mutiply number by price at close to get total spent on each stock
-Click on Portfolios
-Click on your portfolio
-Edit Portfolio
- Enter number of shares
- Enter purchase price (for each share)
- Enter cash amount (by adding total spent on each stock)
-Press save
