This course will primarily utilize Minitab 18, which is available in all PSU campus computer labs. Information on obtaining Minitab can be found at Minitab can also be accessed at this option requires internet access and does not provide direct access to local files. Course Topics:

Topics covered in this course include analysis of variance (ANOVA) for single and multiple factor designs, randomization and blocking, crossed and nested factors, quantitative and qualitative factors, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA), random and fixed effects, and possibly other topics at the discretion of the instructor. Statistical software will be used to apply the techniques covered in this course.

Homework:

Homework assignments will be announced in class and posted on Canvas. Students are required to turn in their homework (hard copy) at the beginning of class on the day that homework is due. Late assignments will not be accepted. Students may drop their lowest homework score.

Exams:

There will be two in-class midterms and a cumulative final exam. All exams are closed-book, but you may bring a calculator and a double-sided 8.5”x11” sheet of paper with formulas to each midterm, and 2 sheets to the final exam. Any conflicts must be resolved at least one week prior to the respective exam date.

Grading:

40% Homework

20% Exam1 (February 12)

20% Exam2 (March 26)

20% Final Exam (Date is TBD)
