HOLY WEEK

MONDAY:Mass- 10 a.m.

TUESDAY:Mass – 10 a.m.
Mass of Chrism: 7.30p.m. Cathedral, Ayr. Bus leaves from St Mary’s at 6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY:Mass – 10 a.m.

HOLY THURSDAY:MASS OFTHE LORD’S SUPPER7p.m.
Eucharistic Ministers will be re-commissioned during this Mass.
Adoration at the Altar of Repose until midnight. Night prayers at midnight.
SCIAF boxesshould be handed in before Mass.

GOOD FRIDAY:Day of fast and abstinence (no meat).
Celebration of the Lord’s Passionat 3 p.m. Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion.
Stations and Kissing of the Crossat 7 p.m.
Voluntary collection box in the porch at both services for the Holy Places in Palestine and the African Missions.
Sacrament of Reconciliation: After 3 p.m. Service on Friday and after Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m.

HOLY SATURDAY:Quiet day. The Church awaits the resurrection. We watch, in spirit, at the tomb of Christ.

EASTER SUNDAY:Easter Vigil9 p.m. We celebrate the resurrection. This is the night when people from all over the world are received into the Church through Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist. We remember our own Baptism and we renew our baptismal promises.

WALK OF WITNESS: Please note our Good Friday Walk of Witness at 10a.m.We begin atSt Columba’s Episcopal Church and proceed to the War Memorial, stopping for reflection, at stations along the way. Tea in Dunn Memorial Hall afterwards.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONFOR THENEW HALL will be taken up next Sunday (Easter Sunday) at both Masses. Gift-Aid envelopes are available on the seats today. EMBRACING CHANGE: The Holy Hour today (Sunday) will take place St John’s, Stevenston, 4 – 5p.m. You are very welcome to attend.

NEW COLLECTION ENVELOPES – NOW IN USE:
PINK ENVELOPES – For those parishioners who HAVE NOT signed gift-aid form. These envelopes are located just inside the two doors at the back of the Church.
YELLOW ENVELOPES – for those who HAVE signed gift-aid forms are on the front seat near the side altar (Blessed Sacrament altar).
GIFT AID: If you want to join the gift-aid scheme or cannot find your gift-aid envelopes, please pick up envelopes in the sacristy and sign and return the gift-aid form enclosed with it.
STANDING ORDER: If you want to start paying by standing order, please collect standing order forms in the sacristy. Fill it in and send to your bank. You can also collect a gift-aid form with S/O marked on the top right hand corner and return to myself or Jim Dunlop. Jim Dunlop is available in the sacristy after both Masses this weekend to help anyone wishing to start GIFT-AID or make out a Standing Order. Please go to sacristy and speak to him.

HALL KEEPER: Following the Bulletin advert, we have selected John Goodridge, Sinclair Drive, to be the new Hall keeper. John will also be responsible for handling any enquiries regarding bookings. Jim Mitchell, Kilburn Water, will provide cover for holidays and any other absence. We wish them both well and would like to thank all those who applied. Full contact details will be given when the hall opens.

FROM EASTER TO PENTECOST: A seven week series of seminars covering: God’s Love, Salvation, New Life, God’s Gift, The Holy Spirit, Growth & Transformation. Through the eyes of scripture, the Catechism, Church teachings and the Saints. Beginning Tuesday 22nd April through to 3rd June. Venue: the Church. (See poster/flyer).
