St Mary’s After School Newsletter January 2017

Welcome back and Happy New Year to you all. I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas break and enjoyed lots of family time. It was a very busy time in the Croft household with my new grandson coming for Christmas. A truly magical time.

Last half term was a busy and fun half term. The children enjoyed lots of Christmas activities. They made some amazing clay decorations which they painted and hung on our giant Christmas tree. They looked so proud when it was decorated and rightly so. It looked stunning. They made glitter hands, mobiles and angels but to name a few. Wonderful. Outdoor play, as always, remained a firm favourite but it was limited due to the weather and the dark nights. Hopefully it won’t be long before we can stay outside for longer.

Dates for the Diary

School closes on Friday 10th February and opens on Monday 20th February

Easter Holidays

St Mary’s close on Friday the 31st of March for the Easter break and re-open on Tuesday the 18th of April. I am aware that St James the Less do not close until Thursday the 13th of April, leaving parents with the task of finding 2 weeks cover. Our Headteacher has kindly given permission for me to open on Monday the 3rd of April till Friday the 7th of April to help with this problem. Sadly I cannot cover the following 4 days but hope this extra week helps out. Please let me know as soon as possible what days, during that week, you require.

Proud Board

Over the next half term, staff will be updating our proud board. Children are welcome to bring in certificates, photos and any achievement awards to put on the board. We will photocopy the certificates and hand the originals back for safe keeping. The children love to see their awards proudly displayed for all to see.

Mobile Phones

A gentle reminder that mobile phones are not permitted on school grounds. Parents/carers are kindly asked not to make/receive calls, text messages or take photographs whilst collecting the children. Many thanks for your kind co-operation.

Booked Places

It is really important that you book all places required at ASC. We are currently running with very high numbers and if your child/children are not booked in we cannot guarantee a place.

Please remember to cancel if you do not need the place in ASC. All uncancelled sessions are charged at £7.50. Thank you.

Payments

Payments can be made by cheque or cash and must be paid on a weekly basis.

Alternatively you can pay using the voucher scheme. Please feel free to ask a member of the ASC team for details.

Quote for the half term

“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”

Abraham Lincoln

Many thanks, as always, to all Parents/Carers, Staff and Governors for your continued support.

Kind regards

Mrs Arlene Croft
