AIMS OF THE MEETING:

  • To review the work of SRL project in both regions during the last 2 years and to collaborate further together
  • To jointly deliver our final dissemination conference to teachers from across the Algarve
  • To ensure all parts of SRL project will be completed on time and in full

Faro Conference:

Seminar: School radio –Raising Literacy and Language Issues in a Creative Way

Target group: Teachers of different levels and groups all across the Algarve region

10.30 “SRL - why we've come together”

  • SRL Coordinators communication – Chris Souvlis and Lídia Ramos
  • why we've come together - background to the project- what the delegates will be able to take away from the conference -- Share practice and provide a focus for learning and teacher professional development within and between both regions - How can the schools/organisations attending use radio in their own schools? What is the legacy of the project? The life experiences of school radio.

“Radio Schools Experience”

  • short presentations (10m) of each school radio – (structure 10m – communication with a clip of 1-4 minutes from each school`s experience) (Notice: Avoid to use sentences like we love this experience this was a fantastic project, assuming the coordinators that role ) 10 minutes useful time with a synopses of each experience

  • followed by MP3 examples of how radio is being used creatively in our schools, video clips of children talking about how radio helps their literacy and language confidence/skills (Amanada, Cat, Charlie?)
