The faculty, staff and administration at Fitchburg State University would like to congratulate you on your upcoming graduation.

The Spring Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be at 10a.m.on the quad.

Caps and gowns can be purchased through the bookstore which is located in the lower level of Hammond Hall.

All lots, with the exception of Lower Cedar, North 2, and those on Highland Ave will be open for graduates and their g

uests. Townhouse South Lot will be reserved for The Platform Party

North 2 will be reserved for Honored Guests

Disability Parking will be along Highland Ave and in the Admissions Lot.Miller Hall[Office1] Lot will be reserved for Disability Parking with overflow in Lower Cedar

Highland Lot in front of Conlon will be reserved for Band Parking[Office2]

All other lots will be open for graduates and guests

Highland Avenue will be closed at Pearl Street with an area for

Assisted Guest Drop-off at the corner.

Shuttle buses will run from the civic center to campus between 8am and 2pm.[TC3]

The seating area forguests will open at 8:30 am. Seating for guests is first come, first served and no tickets or invitations [Office4]are required.

Please relay to your guests that during the ceremony, access to the stage area for picture taking or videotaping by guests will be prohibited. [TC5]Your picture will be taken by a professional photographer as you receive your diploma cover and congratulations from President Lapidus.This picture will be mailed to your home courtesy of the Alumni Association[TC6][Office7].

Graduates and any guests who have a disability may request accommodations through the Disability Services Office.

Please arrive no later than 9 a.m. and report to the Highland Plaza near the flagpoles on the street side of the Anthony BuildingWe ask that all graduates report to Sanders by ?:?? [Office8]amto check-in, receive your name card and if eligible honors medallion.

Please make sure to hold on to your name card as it will be read as while you cross the stage. If you have a name that is difficult to pronounce, please provide the phonetic spelling.

Volunteers, identified by their nametags with ribbons, will assist you in lining up.numerically with your program chair leading[TC9].

You will process into the ceremonyin two lines to your seats.

Volunteers will be located throughout the venue to guide you dDuring the conferring of degrees volunteers will[Office10] guide you from your seats[TC11].

Your Program Chair will then lead you to the stage.

You will hand your name card to the volunteer and walk across the stage toreceive your diploma case and get your picture taken with President Lapidusand[Office12] then shake hands with your program chair(and dean?)[TC13]. [Office14]Upon exiting the stage volunteers will assist you in returning to your seat.

At the completion of the ceremony,volunteers will assist you in recessing after the platform party, alumni, and faculty.

President Lapidus will host a reception at the Highland Plaza immediately following the ceremony for all graduates, guests, and faculty at the Highland Plaza.

Diplomas will be mailed directly to the graduates the first week of June[Office15].
