Spring Coaching has been running for over 20 years. Alex Webb, formerly Spring, worked as a teacher for 4 to 18 years old specialising in Dance and Netball. During this time and once she had left teaching and began working more with England Netall as a tutor, she realised the lack of knowledge and training that many teachers are given in these important national curriculum subjects.
Alex started Spring Coaching as a part time business to mainly coach teachers, coaches and players to help them improve their netball. To improve their own game, and more importantly, to motivate them and provide them with the confidence to often teach a sport they don’t play themselves. Through this interaction with teachers and coaches, many more courses have been developed to help teachers in the different disciplines alongside players who, by understanding more about the game, can become better and stronger court players.
The next Spring Course will be:
Skills and Drills Workshop –a 2 hour workshop concentrating on warm-ups, ball skills, drills and small games.This workshop was created to provide teachers and coaches more ideas to bring netball to life and to give them the motivation and ability to teach with confidence. Perfect for players and teachers of all ages.

Venue: Wallington high School for Girls
Timings: 15.45 – 17.45
Cost: £25
Please bring: this is an active course so please dress for activity and bring water. Those who are unable to participate will often be used as feeders and observers to ensure full involvement.

When I first started coaching, it was really useful because ‘Coaching Made Easy’ always used progressions and started with the basics. It didn’t lead straight into a complex practice. The shooting section was particularly useful as I was a defender and not a shooter so it showed the technical side of the shot. It became my bible and I’m now a more confident coach.

Inspirational is the only way to describe Alex, after attending one of Alex’s coaching courses recently, she has given me the confidence to get myself back on the court, retake my umpiring qualifications and teach my girls so much more than I ever could before. I found the ‘Just Drills’ workshop incredibly useful. As a trainee PE teacher, I have my own knowledge of netball drills however was not sure or confident enough to select some to use for KS3 and KS4 lessons. I found that the whole session was very informative and easy to understand. Alex was very keen to check understanding and revised a couple of drills following feedback which worked well.I will definately be attending more courses as the information is not only useful for netball but also other sports after small adpaptions. I would highly recommend this course.
