5th Grade Activities

October 25th Informational Meeting

The Bowman PTA organizes and partially funds the following activities that your 5th grade child will be invited to participate in:

Spaghetti Dinner – Teacher Coordinator- Jeanne ColeParent Coordinators - Adrienne & Michael Ortyl

•This is a fundraiser organized by 5th grade students and parents. 5th grade students will be the servers for the dinner. The proceeds will be used to offset the cost of 5th grade activities, including the buses required for the Nature’s Classroom field trip.

Field day – Teacher Coordinator- Rachel MarkParent Coordinators- NEEDED

Location: Bowman School playground and fields

Moving On Ceremony and Reception –

Teacher Coordinator- Eric PellParent Coordinators - Ann Franciskovich, Cathy Swan and Marcy Lee

•The ceremony takes place in the gym; the reception is immediately following in the cafeteria; 4th grade parents set up and serve cake and water at the reception.

•As part of the end of the year “Moving On” celebration, each 5th grade student will receive a DVD (with pictures of their classmates), which is shown at the Moving On Ceremony

Yearbook – Teacher Coordinator- Neil TaylorParent Coordinators - Brenda Dzadio and Diane Abe

•As part of the end of the year “Moving On” celebration, each 5th grade student will receive a yearbook

5th grade T-Shirt – Teacher Coordinator- Rachel MarkParent Coordinator - Jo Ann Bodemer

•Each 5th grade student will receive a T-shirt to commemorate their days at Bowman School.

Class Art- Teacher Coordinator- Kathy Abou-Rjaily Parent Coordinators - Virginia Durruty and Cathy Sukow

5th Graders will create a self-expression art project that will be displayed at the Moving On ceremony.

Just to note: There are also 2 field trips for the 5th grade students (Boston Symphony and Nature’s Classroom) that are organized by the teachers at Bowman School.
