2. Minutes of last meeting – Veronica Treacher should be added to list of apologies for the last meeting.

3. Posters/notice boards in the surgery -The Partners agreed to the purchase of some Notice Boards for the reception area. Jenny and Finella met with Ruth Griffiths prior to the Committee Meeting in order to measure the available wall space and decide the size to be ordered.

4. SELF – South East (Oxon.) Locality Forum - Peter Woolsey has volunteered to be our representative at their meetings and he will report back to the committee.

5. Care Data debate – This is due to take place on 10th September at 5.30 in Oxford. Jenny has booked a place and will report back to the Committee. However, if anybody else would like to attend the person to contact is:Yoland Johnson tel. 01865-222333.

6. End of Life Care by Dr. Ellen -As Dr. Ellen was Duty Doctor she was unavoidably late. However, when she was able to come she went into a fair degree of detail about her work in this area. She is one of four doctors in Oxfordshire (plus two vacancies) with a budget of £10,000 to attempt to bring all the various agencies involved in End of Life together in order to provide a seamless service to the patients and their families.

One of the problems that Dr. Ellen brought up was that District Nurses are managed separately and are moved from job to job by their own organization. This creates problems with continuity. In fact this seems to be a general problem within the Health Service.

The Committee found her talk very enlightening and thanked her for sparing the time. Dr Ellen suggested that in order to publicise the End of Life Care work that a meeting be held at the Village Hall in mid to late October, when the various organisations involved eg. Cruise, Macmillan Nurses etc., be present and distribute leaflets and information. A talk and video would be the main part of the meeting. Suzanne Frayling-Cork, who is on the Village Hall Committee, offered to send Jennie Village Hall booking details so that a date could be set.

7. PPG Constitution-The Committee started to go through the Constitution line by line making alterations as agreed. This is to be completed at the next meeting.

8. Any other business –

PPG – There was a discussion about what the Committee could do to publicise : Who we are, What we are, and What we can do for the Patients and the Pratice.

Some of the ideas we came up with were: Improve the PPG part of the Practice website, An article to be put in the Sonning Common magazine and the Practice Newsletter, Notices to be put up on the boards in the surgery and around the locality. It was also mooted that in association with other local PPGs that an article could be submitted to the Henley Standard covering the work we do.

Lighting- Suzanne Frayling-Cork agreed that the lighting problem within the car park be deferred to the next meeting due to the length of today's meeting.

9. Date of next meeting has been confirmed:Tuesday, 30th September at 1pm in the Palmer Room.
