PARODY COMPETITION

Guidelines:

REMINDER: a parody is a new version of a literary piece (usually a poem or song) with changes that are meant to make the audience laugh

1. Take a well-known rhyme (if the audience can't recognize the original, it won't be funny)

2. Keep enough of the structure and content of the rhyme so that it will be easily recognized, but change some of the content to make it amusing. For example, change the characters, setting or plot to others known to the audience.

3. Write the title and authors, and decorate if you wish.

4. You can get more guidelines from this site: http://www.gigglepoetry.com/poetryclass/mary.html

5. Grade each other's parodies, according to the Parody Rubric
