Shantell: Strasburg.

Kathy: Strasburg? Strasburg, Pennsylvania? Is that where you're from?

Shantell: Mm-hm.

Kathy: And do you like it here?

Shantell: It’s a change but I want to leave.

Kathy: OK. Why’s that?

Shantell: ‘Cause I want to go to college and stuff.

Kathy: Yeah. Where are you thinking for college?

Shantell: East Strausburg University.

Kathy: You had said earlier that you also wanted to travel one day, right? Do you remember where you told me you wanted to travel to?

Shantell: I mean Hong-Kong, China.

Kathy: When did you know that you were interested in Chinese culture and Japanese culture?

Shantell: When my real mom died I moved from place to place to find a home and I used to live in Chinatown.

Kathy: You lived in Chinatown? In which city?

Shantell: New York.

Kathy: Who took care of you?

Shantell: The mom.
Kathy: Was it a foster mom?

Shantell: Yeah it was.

Kathy: You had also mentioned that you do some painting and art and ceramics. Can you tell me a little bit about that?

Kathy: Wow!

Shantell: Now I’m gonna do that next.

Kathy: Is that a cat also?

Shantell: Um hm.

Kathy: That’s a cat, ok.

Shantell: Because of its tail.

Kathy: Yeah. Where would you put this one or do people buy them from you?

Shantell: People buy them.
