INTRODUCTORY RITE:

INTRODUCTION

Commentator:Jayann

Good morning my brothers and sisters in faith. Today we are gathered here for a very significant event in our graduates’ life. This shows the completion of their formal academic training and the beginning of another stage in their personal development; and opportunity to respond to God’s calling. .

In this Holy gathering, we thank God for all the countless blessings we received and we also ask for His guidance for us to be able to face challenges in life when we go out of this institution the Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges. Given this year’s theme: “Global Graduates of Today: Facing the Challenge of Building a Better Life.” Our main celebrant is Rev. Fr. Noel O. Nacario, our Chaplain. Let us all rise and welcome our celebrant…

Faculty:Ms CHRISTINE M. EUSEBIO

To you dear graduates and all our students, we are sorry for the times we failed to be your guide and model, when we failed to give you loving support and understanding in your problems and difficulties, when we were impatient and demanding, when we failed to realize that you were in need of our help, LORD HAVE MERCY.

All:LORD HAVE MERCY (sung)

Parent:MR. ELIZER ALIPANTE

To our children, we are sorry for the times we failed to do our obligations as parents, when we failed to give enough love and understanding for your little misdeeds that go with your growing up, when we demanded from your obedience without considering your needs and limitations, when we failed to give attention to your requests. LORD HAVE MERCY

ALL:LORD HAVE MERCY (sung)

Student:RIZI BROFAS

To our parents, mentors, administrators, classmates and schoolmates and friends, we are sorry for our misdeeds and failures, when we deliberately disobeyed and hated you, when we rebelled because we misunderstood your good intentions for us. For all these and many failures. LORD HAVE MERCY.

All: LORD HAVE MERCY (sung)

OPENING PRAYER:

Celebrant:

Father, by this Easter mystery you touch our lives with the healing power of your love. You have given us the freedom of the sons of God. May we who celebrate your gift find joy in it forever in heaven. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the holy Spirit one god forever and ever…

All:Amen.

Commentator:Please be seated for the liturgy of the word.

The change in name of Abram to Abraham is already a sign that the salvation that God will eventually bring to the earth in His Son, Jesus, is not just salvation for the Jews, but salvation for all people. How do we see this? Simply by looking at the name change for “father of a (singular) nation to father of the (many) nations’. It could not be any simpler than that!

Let us all listen to the first reading, a reading from the book of Genesis to be read by ______

First Reading:(student)

When Abram prostrated himself, God continued to speak to him: “My covenant with you is this: you are to become the father of a host of nations.” No longer shall you be called Abram: your name shall be Abraham, for I am making you the father of a host of nations. I will render you exceedingly fertile; I will make nations of you; kings shall stem from you. I will maintain my covenant with you and your descendants after you throughout the ages as an everlasting pact, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are now staying, the whole land of Canaan, as a permanent possession; and I will be their God.” God also said to Abraham: “On your part, you and your descendants after must keep my covenant throughout ages.”

The word of the Lord.

All:Thanks be to God

RESPONSORIAL PSALM

Commentator:The responsorial psalm reflects the reaction of those who accepted the Lord’s covenant. The responsorial psalm will be read by (student)

Student:WILSON ABAD

Let our response be: The Lord remembers His covenant for ever.

Look to the Lord in His strength; seek to serve Him constantly. Recall the wondrous deeds that He has wrought, His portents, and the judgments He has uttered.

The Lord remembers His covenant for ever.

You descendants of Abraham, his servants, sons of Jacob, His chosen ones! He the Lord is our God; throughout the earth His judgments prevail.

The Lord remembers His covenant for ever.

He remembers forever His covenant which He made binding for a thousand generations—which He entered into with Abraham and by his oath to Isaac.

The Lord remembers His covenant.

Second Reading:Jennifer Revilla

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Commentator:The only true glory is the glory attached to the kingdom of God. After all, if we are not ultimately members of the kingdom of God, our life is going to be totally devoid of all glory that matters. So many people today seek the acclaim of others and the glory of the world. This is all passing away and ultimately meaningless. The only thing that matters is whether or not we are preparing ourselves for life in the Kingdom of God. Let us all stand to honor the gospel…

Celebrant:The Lord be with you.

All:And also with you.

Celebrant:a reading from the holy Gospel according to John

All:Glory to You, O Lord.

Celebrant:GOSPEL

“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” So the Jews said to Him, “Now we are sure that you are possessed. Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, “Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.” Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? Or the prophets, who died? Who do you make yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my father who glorifies me, of whom you say, “He is our God.” You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know and I keep his word. Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to them. “Amen, amen, I say to you before Abraham came to be, I AM.” So they picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area. This is the word of the Lord.

All:Praise to you, O Lord Jesus Christ.

Commentator:Please be seated for the Homily.

God thanks you for making us better parents. Help us to understand our children, to listen patiently to what they say and to understand their questions kindly. Do not let us rob them of the opportunity to wait upon themselves, to think, to choose, to make their decisions and to serve. Make us fair and just, considerate and companionable to our children so that they will have genuine esteem for us to be loved and to be imitated by our children. Amen.

TEACHERS’ PRAYER: Ms. Maria Hazel O. Palacio

We thank you loving Father because you have created us to share you eternal glory with love and care. You sustained us in our search for the truth and knowledge we gain from you, to students who will someday become professionals. May we be worthy of what we’ve done and do the same to others. Amen.

GRADUATES’ PRAYERS:

My fellow graduates, please stand and let us express our thanksgiving prayer, God our Father, we thank you for being with us in the midst of so much learning. We have discovered the news ways of looking at the world and of being true to our selves.

We have experienced the beauty of love and the strength of joy and through these we faced the challenges in life. We are grateful Father, for you have shown us with your constant care, goodness and generosity through our family and the people who somehow touched our lives during our years here in Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges. Reward and fill them your love. We pray for help to face the hard things which lie ahead to enrich the poverty within and to set the fullest measure of your gifts the meanness of the world; that somehow, through us, they will be done. Great Patron of Mariners’ St. Raphael Archangel and Lady of the Sea, we leave with heavy hearts the portal of this institution for which we
