COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY (Rm. 117)

Course Description:

This course is designed to learn computer literacy which is a foundational element of success in today’s technology-driven world. This course is intended for students to learn concepts associated with key application software, basic computing fundamentals, and ethics and appropriate behavior while using technology as a tool in the classroom and in life. This course is aligned with national and international standards and the Utah Core to prepare students across multiple levels of skills.

Student Supplies:

Each day the student will bring:

1.A folder for handouts

2.Paper

3.Pen or pencil

Responsible and Respectful Grizzlies will:

  • Not have FOOD, DRINK, GUM, etc. in the lab.
  • Be on time, log in, and begin working.
  • Not be tardy because it will affect citizenship (as per school-wide policy). Three = N, five = U, six = suspension andcannot be made up.
  • Learn to follow directions through listening and reading which an important objective of this course is.
  • Not cheat because it will result in a zero that cannot be made up. Citizenship will also be lowered. Both parties to the cheating will receive the same penalty.
  • Be required to pay for any damage incurred by your misuse of the equipment or books.
  • Be responsible for your own password. (Please remember it and keep it secret.)

Late Work Policy: There will be two times during each quarter that ALL late work will be due; one at midterm and the other at the end of the quarter. After these two due dates, late work will not be accepted.

Grading ScaleA+ = 101% B- = 80%D+ = 67%

A = 93%C+ = 77%D = 63%

A- = 90%C = 73%D- = 60%

B+ = 87%C- = 70%F = below 60%

B = 83%
