It is anticipated that the students would understand the symptomatology of various mental disorders in adulthood, childhood and adolescence and their differential diagnosis.

CONTENT OF THE COURSE
1.Definition of abnormal behavior (psychopathology) and classification of mental disorders.
2.Mental disorders in childhood and adolescence (Mental retardation, Learning disorders, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Communication disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders (e.g. Autism), Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, Eating disorders, Tic disorders, Sexual Disorders and gender identity disorder, Miscellaneous psychological disorders in childhood and adolescence).
3.Mental disorders in adulthood (anxiety disorders, somatoformdisorders, dissociative disorders, Munchausen syndrome, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, Sexual Disorders and gender identity disorder, Eating disorders, substance use disorders)
4.Differential diagnosis and theories for the etiology of mental disorders.
