Dear Parents,
The Atascocita Middle School dance team is a very exciting and rewarding organization. Team unity, time management skills, proper dance technique, choreography skills, and leadership skills are among our goals. Commitment is also extremely important. All dancers are expected to practice twice a week, attend all performances, and maintain their grades. They will dance at selected games at Atascocita Middle School, pep rallies, competitions and various scheduled performances in the community, and attend summer camp.
Fundraising is also very important. The campus fundraisers will provide some funds for yearly expenses, but can’t cover all needs by the dance team. Therefore, the money that is raised is used to purchase new uniforms (not costumes) for the team and to pay for team competition fees. Parent involvement is vital in our fundraising efforts, as all dancers benefit from the monies raised. There will be several parent meetings throughout the year to discuss fundraising and upcoming events. In order to give you an understanding of the financial commitment for the year, the fees required are as follows: General Dance fee ($20) and Uniform Fee ($60). All dancers are expected to have the personal items listed below as well:

(Items 6-11 above may be purchased individually)
If returning dancers have any of the above items in good condition, they may continue using what they have and will not need to re-purchase them.

AMS Tryout Permission Slip & Agreement
My daughter, ______, has my permission to tryout for the AMS dance team. Our signatures below indicate that we have read and understand the following:
· The Tigerette Dancers are considered an extra curricular activity, as they will be competing against other dance teams in the community and performing at school functions. If my daughter makes the team, I will be responsible for the following: General Fee ($20), Uniform Fee ($60), and certain personal items that must be purchased as outlined in the
March 2012 Parent Letter.
· All fees are due and payable at the first meeting, scheduled for
Monday May 21, 2012 at 4:30 pm.
· Tryouts will be held over a three day period: May 21- 23 from 4:30pm - 5:30 pm, in the AMS gymnasium. The first two days will be spent learning and practicing a new dance routine; the third day will be the official tryout in front of judges.
