Winston-Salem Forsyth County Emancipation Association Scholarship

Amount:3 scholarships worth $1,000 each

Criteria:Academic excellence (at least a 3.0 GPA), strong character and commitment to community service. A personal interview is also required.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Amount: 500 scholarships are awarded nationwide ranging from $4,000 to $60,000

Criteria: Scholarship, Leadership and Financial Need. Applicants ranked in the top 5% (number 15 or up) in their class. Reading and Math SAT score must be at least 1000 combined.

Elks Most Valuable Nursing Scholarship

Amount : $1,000 to a NC student

Criteria: Must plan to attend college in NC and major in nursing. Applicants must be in the top 25% of their class (about 75 or above), be actively involved in nursing related activities. Unweighted GPA must be at least a 2.5.

NC State US Bowling Congress Association Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Criteria: Must be a current member of the NC State Bowling Congress Association

General Hugh Shelton Leadership Scholarship to NC State University

Amount: $10,000 per year for 4 years at NC State plus a $2,000 stipend for external leadership experiences

Criteria: strong leadership and community service experience, commitment to "health and wellness", commitment to personal growth, outstanding academic record

Hispanic League Scholarships

Amount:various amounts; last year they awarded 21 scholarships to students totaling $45,000

Criteria: Must be a PAST or PRESENT ESL student in Forsyth County, must be of Hispanic origin, have high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. US Citizenship is NOT required.

Robertson Scholarship to Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill

Amount:Full tuition, room and board, and fees for 4 years at Duke or UNC-Chapel Hill. Each school normally awards 18 Robertson Scholarships. Students also receive a laptop and funding to study abroad. Robertson Scholars have full privileges at both campuses and actually switch campuses for one semester.

Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic ability and outstandingleadership experience in student or community organizations. They are looking for students who have "done great things and who desire to do even greater things."

NC Society of Hispanic Professionals

Amount:$500-$2500

Criteria: Applicants must be of Hispanic/Latino background and graduate from a NC high school. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to community service.

Gardner-Webb University Scholarships

Amount: 12 scholarshipsfrom 80% of tuition to full tuition, room and board

Criteria: must have at least a 3.6 GPA and 1130 SAT (math and reading only) or 24 composite ACT.

Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship

Amount:$6,000 per year for 4 years

Criteria : Must be in the top 25% of your class; must demonstrate intellectual promise, leadership ability and financial need

Charlie Adams Endowed Scholarships from NCHSAA

Amount: $1,500

Criteria: Must be a female on a varsity cross-country team or a male on a varsity wrestling team.

Amount: $2,000

Criteria: Must participate on 2 or more varsity athletic teams during high school, and must be on an athletic team during their senior year. Must have at least a 3.2 GPA and demonstrate active community involvement
