MAJOR FUNCTIONS: These are temporary positions for the City. Responsible for maintenance and care of city streets, alleys, right of ways, parks and city owned buildings. Work involves performing heavy manual labor, which requires the use of hand tools to assemble, install, and maintain equipment and city properties. Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Works Director and the Parks and Recreation Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Performs routine grounds and road right-of-way cleaning and maintenance; cuts grass with power mowers, including small tractor mowers, push-type or small tractor mowers; cuts and hoes weeds; trims and prunes shrubbery and small trees; rakes leaves; edges curbs; sprays ditches for weeds; cleans and maintains garden equipment; loads trash and trimmings on truck; sweeps sidewalks; cleans floors.Performs heavy manual labor such as digging, lifting objects or equipment, spraying, painting, and other manual labor.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must have a Valid FL Driver’s license. High School Graduate or GED. Must be able to operate general lawn equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS: Work outside in various weather conditions with moderate to loud noise level. The job risks occasional exposures to dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, and noxious odors, and vehicular traffic. Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, or life/safety vest as necessary. The job requires normal visual acuity, field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.

WORK SCHEDULE:24 hours per week – 3 days per week

HIRING RATE:$12.00 hourly

Pomelo Street. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment back ground check, physical and drug screening.
