Recognized As One of the Premier FTC Robotics Teams in Washington State, King S Robotics

On Sunday January 15 2012, the King’s Varsity Robotics Team (FTC Team 3717) took first place at the Washington State FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Championship, returning home with the title for the third consecutive year. On February 11 2012, the King’s Junior Varsity Robotics Team (FTC Team 4590) took first place at the Idaho State FTC Robotics Championship, returning home with the title for the second consecutive year. As a result, both of these King’s Robotics Teams will advance to the FTC World’s Championship held in St. Louis, Missouri the last week of April to compete against the top 125 FTC teams in the world.

Recognized as one of the premier FTC robotics teams in Washington State, King’s Robotics strives to train its students in real-world engineering practice and methodology, in order to design, develop and compete with the most effective and competitive FTC robots in the league. The opportunity to compete in the FTC World Championship is a truly life-changing experience for our young, budding engineers of tomorrow. King’s Robotics needs to raise funds to cover the cost of as much of the trip as possible. The trip budget is $18,000 including event registration ($2000), robot parts and materials, shipment of robots and equipment, team travel and lodging.

Additionally, King’s Robotics desires to enrich and deepen the learning experience by establishing a professional quality manufacturing lab enabling our students to develop the skills considered essential by many engineering firms. A cornerstone of such a lab would be a professional quality CNC machine with the associated software and classroom curriculum. Machines of this caliber cost in the $10,000-$15,000 range. Perhaps you would be interested in helping King’s Robotics build a state-of-the-art manufacturing lab learning center?

Please consider supporting King’s Robotics by helping send this excited and energetic group of Washington’s future engineers to represent our state in the FTC World Championship, or by helping to fund a team manufacturing lab. We respectfully invite you to join our list of gracious supporters, which includes companies such as Electroimpact, Microsoft and Philips. We offer company publicity on our team t-shirts and web site. With a donation of at least $2000, we will place your company or family name on both of the robots competing at World’s! We are confident our mission and need aligns with your goal of helping students become excited about science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and inspired about the future.
