Consulting Projects

MassMutual, Massachusetts, ongoing since late 2009.Provided architectural support for several SharePoint Server 2007 applications including financial reporting, risk management and learning management center. Created and delivered custom Site Collection Administrator training curriculum to 200+ personnel

USC, California, provided architecture, consulting and training services for the University of Southern California. Created custom Java and J2EE training curriculum to migrate legacy system developers to new systems written to run an J2EE technologies. Architected and managed new Time Tracking Leave Request Leave Accrual application.

Chevron Oil, California, provided architecture, consulting and training services for Chevron Oil’s company-wide rollout of Microsoft SharePoint. Planned and implemented the pilot project that was used as a template for the company wide rollout. Created and delivered the training for SharePoint administrators and developers. Created and delivered the training solution for end-users. Created an online training solution for administrators, developers and end-users.

Blue Cross Blue Shield, South Carolina, provided mentoring and training support for implementation of web service integration with existing main frame applications. Project used several products in Data Direct’s Shadow Software family.

Washington State University, several projects including Student Registration, Book Store Inventory Management and Student Reporting. Completed throughout late 2005 and early 2006. All applications were written in C# using ASP.Net version 2.0. Microsoft provided a significant source of funding for the projects as well as recommending me for the assignment.

Wells Fargo, Loan Application Automation. My role completed late 2008. Application is 100% C#, and BizTalk Server based. My role was first to train the existing development staff in Des Moines, IA; Chandler, AZ; and San Francisco, CA on the three core technologies: ASP.Net 2.0, C# and BizTalk Server 20006 R2. I was then tasked with trouble shooting and implementing the many of the custom business objects that make loan underwriting decisions.

Teledyne. Financial Reporting Application. Completed late 2007. Rewrote java web based application responsible to compiling and producing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Application was written in ASP.Net version 2.0 and C#. At the customer’s request the application also included an Excel based interface to support existing data entry functionality. Reporting was handled by implementing Sql Reporting Services. At my suggestion, we also included web parts functionality to allow users to create custom layouts which allowed to positions in the Accounting department to be eliminated.

Omaha Public Power District, Plant Reporting Applications. Completed 2003. Worked on web based applications that reported current operating conditions of OPPD. Application was written 100% in C# and ASP.Net version 1.1. Also built the business objects that interfaced with an existing Nuclear Regulatory Commission system.

Federal Express, Air Freight Loading/Offloading Coordination System. Completed 2004
This project started life as a windows forms based application using C# and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The purpose of the application was to automate the loading and unloading of air freight at Federal Express’ Memphis and Indianapolis based facilities. The reporting functionality was later switched to a web based application using ASP.Net 1.1. In the initial phases of the project I focused on writing the business logic and data access layers of the application. In the reporting phase of the project I wrote the web based application while other members of the team focused on implementing the CSS.

Aero Tech, In House Web Based CRM. Completed late 2004. This application was 100% written in C# and ASP.Net version 1.1. I was the only participant in the project. At the client’s request, the application made significant use of the Enterprise Library Data Application Bloc.

Vertrue, In-house Order Fulfillment application. Completed Mid 2005 Application was 100% C# based and was implemented in order to migrate the application from an AS-400 COBOL application. My focus was primarily on mentoring existing development staff and writing the Data Access Layer as well as the classes that interfaced with the Siebel phone based order system.
